How long!?

Name change!

DP and I have agreed that now is a good time to start thinking about TTC (exciting Grin). Have both wanted to for a while and figure now is a good a time as any.

I know these threads have been done to death, but... How long did it take you to conceive?

I'm almost 28, healthy weight and a fairly good diet, and hoping it won't take us too long!

All positive responses!
Half of me thinks it would happen straight away, the other sensible half knows I could be waiting a while Smile
Mrsjones hopefully you will get your BFP soon!

First cycle both times. However first ended in miscarriage and I'm only 9 weeks with this one so anybody's guess! Best of luck!

Sorry to say but it is a bit how long is a piece of string Grin I was 31 when we started TTC and it took 12 cycles.. Both fit and healthy and no obvious reason why it took that long..

I'm currently 26w with my first. We conceived in the first month of trying. I'm 26 (DP 30) and both pretty healthy! Could have just been good luck though. I was expecting it to take a few months at least!

Agree that there's no rhyme or reason.

Took 3.5 years to conceive DD.

Started trying again in January 2016 and fell pregnant 2nd cycle but that ended in a MMC. Fell pregnant after another 3 cycles but that ended in tfmr.

It's now been 8 months and no sign of another BFP. I wish I knew what had gone right the times I did manage to conceive!

Wishing you loads of luck x

First time round was a whoops, am now 14w with DC2, first cycle. DH and I both age 33 and 36 each time. Healthy weight and relatively good diet, lifestyle etc. We had no reason to expect any difficulties and have been fortunate not to experience any so far.

Yeah, it really is just luck of the draw then!
Part of me wonders whether to spend more time just us, but we would both love a child, and I've seen so many topics on here where people are struggling to get a BFP and say how much they wish they'd started trying earlier.
We are just seeing how it goes for now, I'll probably vaguely track my cycles but won't use OPKs or anything just yet...

We started ttc when I was 26 and baby is due on my 29th birthday, I think it was around 18 cycles. I'm a healthy weight and although I have a medical condition, it doesn't affect my ability to conceive, so we just took longer.
When we looked into fertility treatment, the GP told us the majority of women will conceive within the first year and most of those who don't, will conceive in the 2nd year. We were 2nd year people!

Good luck 😊

6 and half years later and we're still trying. 3 mc in that time. First pregnancy took us 3 and half years.

I'm 25, so I'm still hopeful, although slowly feeling the need to give up and give in that it's not meant to be for me.

Xx

Yes apparently very much the length of a piece of string!
I'm going to vaguely keep an eye on my cycle this month. Although this is my first one since coming off the pill so I know it's probably unlikely that we would be so lucky!
No don't give up LittleFox, you're still so young! I can't imagine how disheartening it is, I hope you get your baby soon Smile
