Cycle suddenly changes when trying to get pregnant

We have been trying to get pregnant for a few months. It has been six months since I have been off the pill and in the last three months I have used ovulation strips tof increase the chance.
However my cycle before the last three months was 28 days, however now the cycle had changed from 33 days to as much as 42 days. This is off course a bit annoying as I keep on thinking I may be pregnant and end up buying loads of pregnancy tests.
Has anyone been in the same situation?

I've found no info on the subject I'm afraid, but my first cycle TTC was very out of the ordinary. My average is 26 days and this was 31.

You body may still just be getting used to not being on the pill. I'm sure I heard it can take up to a year. I wasn't on the pill but my cycles varied from 27 days through to 50. It was fucking annoying! Also cost a fortune in ovulation test kits - I ended up using the digital clear blue ones.

I had this last month. All my cycles since coming off the pill have been 28 or 29 days. Last month, our first cycle of trying, it was 32 days. Like you, I was getting BFNs. I'm on day 31 of this cycle, but BBT dipped a bit this morning.

That sounds like me!
I seem to be alternating between 24 day cycles, then a 28 day one. Back and forth. Prior to TTC (well stopping preventing) I was 28 days on the dot.

No idea what's causing this

I wasn't on the pill for years and years and had very regular cycles and no problem periods or anything. We get married and start ttc and guess what - first couple of cycles were all over the shop! It seems a common little trick experienced by many in ttc groups.

If you haven't read it already, 'taking charge of your fertility' is a great book (whether ttc or just as brilliant info about woman's reproductive health).

Fingers crossed it's just the usually ttc early hiccup and your cycles will settle down nicely in the next few months.
