Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

Oh gosh... Don't you want to wait one cycle? If you're lucky and get a bfp, you won't be able to drink at the wedding! Good luck, though :)

Hi Mrstobe90 Smile exciting isn't it - I'm coming off the pill in 10 days and I've already got a list of names and a baby pinterest board, and I've started knitting clothes. I'm 23, ttc for the first time.

I'm older than you and started TTC in February. We had a break in March due to husband having a minor op and conceived in late April so our second month of trying really. My advice is don't bother with those stupid hormone test things - they told me I had no hormones which put us off trying but I think they're really unreliable. Do it every other night in the last two weeks before your next period, and hold you legs high in the air with a pillow underneath your bottom after for about 10 minutes to help the fellows go in the right direction.. I know it sounds stupid but at 36 I've got pregnant in two months which seems to me bloody ridiculous so don't knock it!

JoJo We were going to start straight after the wedding but I'm fertile right now and we were DTD the other day and thought, why not just start now? lol Thank you! I don't mind not drinking if it means we'll have a bundle of joy :)

IJustgothit yes it is exciting! I'm trying not to get my hopes up as I don't want to be let down. If I knew it was a definite, I'd be getting pinterest up as well lol. How sweet that you're knitting clothes! Have you been knitting long?

Kimmy thank you! That really gives me hope :)
I had surgery on my womb and ovary and other abdominal areas 3 weeks ago and the surgeon told me he wants us to start trying asap for some reason so hoping that's a good sign (Although it did make me panic a little)
Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

How exciting! I must I've found ovulation predictor kits really helpful, but only the Clearblue Digital Advanced ones. I'm like clockwork on those but never ever got a positive reading on any other brand.

You may well get pregnant first attempt; I did and at almost 35 I was gobsmacked!

Can I join in? I'm 28 and my partner is 31. We've been together for five years and are TTC number 1. Onto cycle 2 (af arrived today). I've found the Ovia app quite useful so far.

Hi guys! :)

poppy yeh I've heard that clearblue kits are really good! I wanted to buy some today but my SO said that we should just take it easy and not take it too seriously until after the wedding (I'm personally taking it seriously now lol)
And that's amazing!! I can only hope we're that lucky!

magpie hi :) I hope you get a BFP really soon!! I've never heard of Ovia. I'll give it a try :) thank you

Hi, this is the first time I've joined anything like this but I thought it's good to talk to people that are going through the same thing.. I am trying for my first and I am 35. I'm two months in with no luck but staying positive as I know it can take time.

I knew it was going to be up and down. However I wasn't expecting the roller coaster of feelings and emotion that trying can bring and the two week wait in my opinion is just brutal! All the same it's very exciting just hope to see that positive line soon... good luck everyone xx

I agree with you about the rollercoaster of emotions @Naomi! It was only my first month ttc last cycle and I convinced myself I was pregnant! Must have been my body adjusting to being off the pill for the first time in 8/9 years....

Isn't it exciting when you finally feel you can start a family! I'm 23 and ttc number 1 too! We are engaged with a lovely family home and my fella is 35 so it just seems a perfect time. I've been off the pill now for 5 months and still no bfp...don't know whether I should be worried or not?? I'm a police officer so my shifts are tiring, and my fella works away once/twice a month...maybe we're just not baby dancing enough at the right time! Fingers crossed for everyone on here, bring on the bfps Grin

Hi, can I play too?! TTC #1, first cycle. It's kind of half a cycle though as we started half way through. I had my implant out a few months ago and cycles getting longer each month. Last cycle was 27 days so hopefully will settle around that! Using clue to track but mostly so I could gauge things after implant really.

Hi Ladies, please can I join too? I'm 25, married for nearly two years and TTC #1 too. First cycle as only had mirena coil out 2 weeks ago!

Hi ladies, nice to hear from you all and know we are all in it together.... it's exciting but also takes over a little so nice to share feelings. @magpie24 I was exactly the same during the first month, I was convinced I was pregnant, I had EVERY symptom and period came bang on time (so no way I was) I was shocked as couldn't believe my body could make me feel things that wasn't happening, I've put it down to my body getting itself ready. It's helped me a little as now I don't look for every symptom.... what will be will be right! (And hopefully soon) Smile good luck all xx

Hi everyone! Good luck to you all and congratulations kimmy!

I would like to join please! I got married on Saturday, and this is my first month not on the pill. Think I might wait till back from honeymoon before doing the ovulation kits etc but if I happened to conceive a honeymoon baby, so much the better....

Hi everyone! :) It's nice to hear all your stories! Hopefully we'll all get our BFP's this month :)

I'm already trying not to symptom spot but it's soooo hard! I've got sore boobs and pain in my lower back which I've never had before and I'm just trying to tell myself that it's all in my head haha

btw I have a question (sorry if it's really stupid but just want to know)
today I checked the height of my cervix and it's quite low but it's tilted to the right, so I was wondering if after we DTD, should I lie on my side with pillows under me? once again, sorry if it's a stupid question lol

Mctufty congratulations!! A honeymoon baby would be perfect!!!

naomis it is strange how our bodies can trick us! The brain is a really powerful thing!

TLH it can take a while for the pill to come out of your system. My boss came off hers and was trying for over a year and was convinced she couldn't have kids. She ended up giving birth to a little boy in January and is now pregnant again! :) It may take time but have faith xxx

I'm 30. Been with DH 10 years, married two.
I came off Depo Provera last July, AF returned August and got my first positive opk last month, so now technically cycle 2.

Just to be the voice of doom.... consider waiting until after the wedding. Not drinking isn't an issue, but you might feel sick. Really really sick.
I started vomiting about six days after conception (we only did it once that month as we were both travelling for work) and I didn't stop until the day I gave birth. I would NOT have wanted to feel like that on my wedding day or honeymoon. I had HG (which ain't the norm, I grant you) but I was vomming up to 20x a day. Not fun on honeymoon.

Otherwise, know your body, keep an eye on ovulation sticks to pinpoint your fertile times, and watch the mucus and just shag lots. Folic acid is a must and enjoy the process. Ttc #2 now - it took me almost 20 months to have a period after he was born so hoping the machinery still works. Good luck!

Mrstobe90 · 01/06/2017 11:17

fair fax glad you're getting positive opk's. I've not done any yet. DH wants to wait til after the wedding to start doing stuff like that

Ana omg that sounds awful!! How did you cope?
I started taking the pre-conception Pregnacare tablets last month as ordered by my GP. Hoping they help.
I have a feeling it's going to take a while to get pregnant so want to get a head start. For some reason I don't think I'll be pregnant on my wedding day, no matter how much we try. Probably just me being negative to be honest

Ana you poor thing that is my worst nightmare

Mrs your gp recommended pregnacare? Mine didn't - just folic acid & vitamin D. Obviously depends who you talk to.

I'd like to try and avoid the opk route really - concerned it will take the fun out of ttc!

Yeh because I've recently had surgery and have some minor health problems, she recommended that I start taking pregnacare pre-conception tablets. I've been on them for just over a month now :)

Mrs - It's really hard not to feel every twinge and hang off every symptom, I googled every day and every day I was more convinced. My advice is stay cool and keep thinking it might just be your body getting ready. Then it may just surprise you and be the real deal! 🤗

I'm 50/50 about ovulating tests, feel like I would have a better chance with them but after I don't want to make it too planned and serious. Maybe I'll give it another month of just listening to my body and looking out for ov signs. Xx
