Period help?!

Been off birth control since Dec 2016. Had a withdrawal bleed 2 weeks after then my periods went back to normal. I've always been very regular (on 28 day cycle) As I've got older my periods have gone from super heavy as a teen to having a day or two where my flow is medium then a lighter day then very light/spotting for a day or so. Usually my whole period doesn't last more than 4 days, or sometimes 3.

Last month, I had my usual "pre-af" spotting (light watery brown when I wiped) so I knew the next morning, my period would be in full swing. Sure enough, woke up the next day and I was having a light flow which turned into a medium red flow. Changed my tampon a few hours later and there wasn't very much blood on it. I had no more bleeding after that. Tiny bit of watery pink/brown when I wiped but other than that, nothing.

My period was due again today. Yesterday afternoon I started getting watery brown when I went for a wee except by the evening it had gone. Figured my period would be there in the morning anyway. Woke up with period cramps, put in a tampon, took it out a few hours later and there's only a small amount of dark brown blood on it. And now it's stopped completely, not even getting watery brown stuff.

I don't know why they've suddenly gone weird, could there be an explanation for it that maybe isn't necessarily sinister like I'm thinking? lol I tried googling but I can't find any answers to my specific problem :(

Have you checked your not pregnant? Some people bleed in pregnancy and all.is fine x

Have you done a pregnancy test? I had small bleeds like this for the first couple of months of my pregnancy with DD2.

I mean, I could be pregnant as I've been ttc but I haven't tested, I just figured that seeing as this has happened two months on the run then it's highly unlikely. I did do a pregnancy test after the last weird period but it was negative. I just went for a wee and when I wiped there was a bit of light pinky/brown but nothing I would bother even putting a pad on for. I wasn't as worried about it last month as I figured it was a one off but now it's happened again I'm panicking there's something not right :/

I would say worth testing again, you never know x

I've had bleeding that's been starting and stopping since last night. It's very light and is dark brown on the tampon. I didn't have any pregnancy tests so used an ov test but the test line was very faint so I'm not pregnant. Kind of felt a gush this morning so put tampon in, very little brown blood when I took it out and I went almost all day without wearing another. Then about 9pm this eve, felt another small gush, put a tampon in, removed it just now and again, small amount of brown and now it's totally disappeared again... argh so frustrating!!!

Why don't you do a pregnancy test? ovulation tests don't test for the pregnancy hormone.
