How reliable are Superdrug early tests?

Babybrain1791 · 11/05/2017 18:47

I've just taken a Superdrug early test after a 3.5hr hold without a drink and have got a pretty faint but definitely pink and visible in person that came up within 3 minutes..

I know they're really sensitive and I'm in shock tbh - I don't know whether it could be a mistake?
I hope it isn't but I just can't quite believe it.

I've been having pink spotting streaked in ewcm the last few days, hardly anything and only there when checking - no pain and it hasn't got any heavier - don't know if that's a bad sign..
I have had a chemical before so I am weary of it a little.

Any input would be appreciated!

Hi. I got my BFP on Sunday which was the day my period was due, I'm 5+4. 6 days before the I did a Superdrug first response and got BFN. So the fact that you got a result looks pretty positive. Maybe try a different kind of test in the morning.

Kitcaty · 11/05/2017 19:32

Fingers crossed for you Smile

DuchessK · 11/05/2017 19:43

I totally love you for posting this. I got a definate double pink line on Superdrug own brand earlier and have been fretting since, when I looked at test later line had disappeared. Are they super sensitive? I am only a couple of days late which is a frequent occurance, hope this is true and will be buying more tests in the morning.

FluffyEwok · 11/05/2017 19:47

I got a positive on Superdrug I'm now 12 weeks and it's in my bedroom drawer still with 2 pink lines on

Babybrain1791 · 11/05/2017 20:08

Thanks everyone - I'm tentatively positive about it. It is really faint but pink and thick...
I think I'll try with a first response tomorrow as soon as I can get to the shops.

I'm just so nervous about it either not being real and having the worst come down tomorrow and having to deal with being pregnant 6 months before my wedding at the same time Confused

DuchessK, it sounds like you might be super early - they are only 10ml so super sensitive!
Sounds good though.

Not very reliable I had positives 2 months ago with them, came up within the time frame and I was never pregnant

Holzyb that is exactly what mine looks like - I'm sorry that happened to you. I wonder how it can?!
I've just looked at reviews on the Superdrug website and it looks like a lot of people have had this problem..

Im feeling much less positive now, I guess I can only wait and see tomorrow with a first response Sad

I got a very faint line at 10dpo. Seems like yesterday but I'm lying in the dark feeding the subsequent baby!

Hotpinkangel19 · 11/05/2017 21:52

I don't trust them either, sorry. Try a frer, I trust those!!! This was mine. Horrible tests x

Oh god that is so pink as well! Did it come up in the timeframe?

Soooo many horror stories!! I could keep myself up all night googling these...
This is so awful, I don't even understand how they can be that strong and false. I've heard of them showing evaps when they're opened or outside of the timeframe - I've had loads of evaps when I've left them overnight and checked..

Is there anyone else with a real positive to keep my fading dream alive?

OP posts:
Millypad · 12/05/2017 11:13

I too, alas for a false positive on these, but I have my fingers crossed for you - any luck with first response?

DuchessK · 12/05/2017 12:13

I can't back to Superdrug, they opened late today but I have since done 4 other tests and they are all negative so I think that the teat was wrong and I am gutted.

Babybrain1791 · 12/05/2017 13:59

Duchess I'm so sorry - I can't believe how common it is.. I really hope you get your bfp soon. Remember, you're not out until AF shows.
Did you take it at the same time of day as before? I have read that a lot of people only get true results when doing this.

I've bought another pack of Superdrug's and some FRER for after work - I'll hold off going to the loo or drinking until then like yesterday and see what they bring Confused

holzyb20 · 12/05/2017 14:01

Hi Op any news? I have my fingers X's for you. I sent a letter to superdrug with the packaging and a picture of my test with a note from my doctor to say I was never pregnant, I had a letter back to say how "rare" it was and they will look into it, I will also get a full refund. X

Babybrain1791 · 12/05/2017 14:51

Hi Holzy

At least you can get your money back - if mine turns out to be false, I will definitely be following in your footsteps there.

I've bought another pack of Superdrug's and some FRER for after work - will update after that.

Still got the spotting and it's a bit heavier so not too sure what's happening tbh!

OP posts:
Babybrain1791 · 12/05/2017 14:52

Also, how can they say it's rare!!! They just need to google it or look at the reviews on their website - I've never seen so many false positive reports for one test before that was pink dye at least

Babybrain1791 · 12/05/2017 18:24

Update: just done 1 Superdrug and 1 FRER and both bfn.. I'm heartbroken. Wasn't expecting to be but I really am :(

Try again in the morning, if you're pre period, morning wee is the way to go. It's not over til AF shows Flowers

Hotpinkangel19 · 12/05/2017 21:42

Try in the morning xxx

NoOneLikesACrispyTowel · 13/05/2017 08:25

You can totally rely on Superdrug to give you a line, yes.
But it doesn't mean you're pregnant.

A huge complaint needs to be made it that company. It's breaking hearts of women who are TTC. It's cruel.

Sorry OP.

Justwaitingforaline · 13/05/2017 09:33

Thinking of you, OP. How did it go this morning?

Ava1985 · 13/05/2017 09:40

Hi op

Yeah took another 2 this morning and both bfn - I had no idea Superdrug tests were so bad before I bought the first box or I would never have done it.. I've been so upset ever since, it's just so disappointing to think you've finally done it and then it's just ripped away like that.

I'm definitely going to write to them and use the money back to get myself some flowers or something!! 😂😂

Thank you so much for all your support ladies, it's been such a comfort - good luck to everyone ttc 😊
