Hi kleigh, I had my implant out end of Feb 2014 to TTC. Had quite a heavy withdrawal bleed straight away for five days, normal period two weeks later, and BFP two weeks after that. Ds is currently causing chaos whilst I try to cook dinner!

I had mine out in late January. It took a while to come back, around 4-5 weeks I think. Was starting to think it wouldn't appear but it did in the end..!

Had a copper coil fitted ( no hormones) before implant removal. I had a proper period two weeks after removal, and periods like clockwork on 30 day cycle ever since!

Had my implant removed 4th December last year, withdrawal bleed a few days after that lasted 3 days. Then a month later I got my first proper period and have now had 3 proper periods in total, cycles are 29-30 days long

Thank you. I have Asherman's Syndrome so it's highly unlikely that I'll conceive but we'll see. Sending lots of luck your way! :)

When I had my implant out to ttc our son, I didn't get withdrawal bleeding or even a period as I got pregnant that first cycle. This time, nothing so far.

I had mine out last June, didn't have a period until Jan this year Shock if had the implant exactly 3 years.

Cycles are now 28 days and like clockwork :)

I'm not TTC though so it wasn't massively frustrating, although slightly worrying! Weirdly my cycle returned to exactly the same time as it was before the implant, i always start around the first day of the month and that's the same now Confused

I didn't have any spotting or symptoms at all until Christmas, when I got a bit hormonal.. then New Year's Day AF arrived pretty much exactly 6 months after I had the implant removed. I went to the GP twice to discuss my lack of period but they just told me to wait.. they were right Wink

Try not to worry, everyone is different and you'all drive yourself mad.

Good luck!

I'm very jealous. I still have the implant and bleed for 6-9 weeks then get a break of up to 12 weeks then another bleed. Doc said perfectly normal Confused it's due out soon and can't wait.

I've had two implants.
Had both removed and was pregnant both times within a couple of weeks of having them removed - no period either time!

Report
TJDetweiler · 31/03/2017 10:23

I had it removed and became pregnant that cycle so my period never actually returned until after DS was born.

I had my implant out in September 2016. Not sure if this is relevant, but I never had a period whilst on the implant. Light period appeared about a month later. I then got pregnant around Christmas. Had lots of cramping after the implant came out though. Good luck OP x

Kleigh I feel the same. Breastfeeding is adding in an extra 'what's going on' dimension as I really don't know if it is having an affect on ovulation or not.

It is a very frustrating time. I felt like my body wanted to have a period as well. Easier said than done but a nice, hot bath and some relaxing nights in will help. Fretting/worrying/stressing about it won't help (but I am sure you know that) x

Report
kleigh612 · 31/03/2017 12:29

All I'm doing is stressing out
I've never ever checked my cervix but I've even tried this for clues 🙈 easier
Said than done it's not helped at all
