Fertile window, WTF?!

I would be very grateful for some help because I am pretty confused! TTC #1. DH and I don't DTD that much so trying to be focussed on the fertile window. Average 27 day cycle. Two apps giving me completely different fertile windows! Confused.com. Don't want to try OPKs just yet as trying to stay relaxed about TTC. Which days of my cycle would typically be my fertile ones? Currently on day 11. Thank you!

Now. Generally you ov about 14 days (give or take) before af is due. You are fertile up to 5 days before ov. So for you, I would consider myself fertile cd 9 - 14. Look for signs in your cm too - watery or clear goo cervical mucus (could just look at your discharge). Without tracking using temps and opks, that is a best guess.

Reluctant I had the same using a few apps, so ended up using ovulation tests and those gave me completely different results again! Using the tests we conceived that month and I'm now 11 weeks pregnant!

Thank you for your replies and congratulations Soph on your pregnancy! Maybe I will have to look at using OPKs but DH is really against it as he worries about it becoming stressful me becoming a psycho! Did you tell your DP you were using OPKs?

I told my DH I was going to but didn't tell him when and just initiated DTD as normal!! Didn't want to put too much pressure on him! TBH he couldn't have cared less, I don't think he understands it all anyway and he's over the moon now we're pregnant!

Do you notice any difference with your CM, that is a good indicator pre ovulation.

After ttc for 12 months plus 5 months tracking before, yes, cm is a good indicator for me (along with other cues). I have to say, if you don't conceive quickly, you will probably turn into a mad, despairing woman anyway, so anything you can do to help conceive quickly is helpful. It has put a lot of pressure on our relationship.

DH knows some of the tracking I do (opks and bbt, but not cervical position or cm), but I don't tell him what it all tells me until after ov. He's caught on pretty well as to when we need to focus dtd efforts though over the last year!

Remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. you only have at best a 25% chance each month, which means 80% will conceive within a year (and 93% within two years).

My advice would be to start with low hopes...

Thank you. I have been off BC since Jan 16 TTC "properly" since Jan 17, so it's fair to say my hopes are already pretty low...
