Nearly every test you can buy is 99% accurate on the day your period is due...so not too early.

It depends - implantation occurs 6-12 days after you ovulate. That's one reason why women get different results (as tests check for the hormone produced via implantation).

If you've had spotting that could suggest implantation. And so a few days later a sensitive test could pick something up.

Otherwise it's a case of testing on day of missed period, then again a week later if still no period.

If you ovulated on CD23 then test on CD37. You can drive yourself nuts testing early.
