BBT measurements - how strict are you?

Hi all

I usually wake up about 15 mins before my alarm and take my temperature straight away. This morning though i was woken by my alarm so turned it off, checked a message on my phone, rolled over and hugged DH then remembered to temp. The reading was about 0.3 degrees higher than the last few days and it's CD17. I haven't noticed any other ovulation signs. How strict are you at temping immediately when you wake? Do you think an increase could be due to my slightly different movements?

First of all, is your thermometer two decimal places?

You're looking for an overall pattern over a few months, so a once of temp 15 min later one day should be ok, but could be a problem when trying to pinpoint ovulation.

This only works with 2 decimal places though, and your temp wouldn't be exactly the same each morning. 36.84, 36.93 are my last two temps, for example. Both post ovulation and both over the coverline.

Hi NaturWilde yeah i have a 2 d.p. thermometer - my last 4 temps were 36.30, 36.26, 36.21 then 36.56 today. I guess I'm a bit antsy as it's only my 2nd cycle after stopping the pill in October so would love to be ovulating so early!

Then keep going! You need the higher temps for 3 days in a row.

Kindara app is great, very clear and a great community for feedback. Especially useful when you're starting to chart!

Fingers x!
