Is the darker test positive for ovulation?
The lighter one if from last night. Darker test from just now.
This is my first month using OPK's so I'd just like some knowledgable opinions!
Thanks

I think it's still not positive. The second line needs to be at least as dark as or darker than the control line. But this shows your LH is on the way up. I'd try again later this afternoon or evening.

Thanks meadow,
I was starting to think I wasn't ovulating as I've recently had the implant out and there were no tiger signs and my AF was all over the place.
I left it 5 more minutes and I've got this, will test again tonight and compare. Hopefully it gets darker.

Here's my positive from today to help you compare. Test line is much much darker than control.

Take the OPK test morning and evening as you get closer to when you think you ovulate!

Natur- thanks that's really helpful. Does everyone's test get that dark?
If it doesn't I guess I just go by my "darkest" test result.

Go by what is equal/darkest for you. Took me a few cycles to know what signalled my surge.

I temp too, so it all helps build a picture! Do you temp?

Which CD are you?

Okay, so I'll continue taking photos to compare results.
I had been tempting up until Friday when we had to get up at 2am for a flight and went away for the weekend so I could take my temperature when it probably would've peaked.
It's CD 11 for me today, and I had some discharge so tested with OPK when we got back last night and this morning.
With the temping I'm not so sure how accurate you have to be with time? My husband wakes up at 4:15 most mornings waking me up but I rarely get a good night sleep with dd waking up a couple of times very early morning so not so sure my results would be accurate. I noticed a temp spike on CD 9 but was unable to temp since then. It does all rather confuse me!

Sounds like we're cycle buddies! I'm also TTC #2.

Again with temping, it's what's normal for you. I think generally 3 hours of sleep before you wake, so you could end up taking your temp at 4.30 daily. You don't need to read/record it then! My 2 decimal place thermometer beeps when ready so I'm still half asleep when I do it. When I'm properly awake I read and record it...

My ovulation test didn't get that dark
I've attached my darkest one for you to compare. This is from the month I fell pregnant so I definitely ovulated Smile

Natur- fingers and toes crossed for you too then! My dd has just turned 4 and now feeling finally ready for another.
I will try just taking it at 4:30 I think when dh wakes at least then I should've slept for at least 3 hours and I'm not waking myself up yet again when i wouldn't usually!

Ethel- thanks for that, it's reassuring to know what to look out for in different cases. Congratulations by the way!

Just taken a second test and the lines actually lighter than this morning (the second one) does this mean I've ovulated already? Very confusing Confused

Are you also checking CM? The tests are good but I really think you need to use them in conjunction with CM to properly assess when you O and when to BD. My tests also never got as dark as the control line.

Bue- yes on cd 9 I had egg white CM and dtd then. However haven't had any/much since and was unsure if the cm indicated ovulation was happening or about to happen.

I know it's hard but I'd try to simply observe for a few cycles to see what pattern you have.

And the surge can be brief so easily missed by the OPK. Work with your cycle, so that means observing CM and temps. You'll be an expert in your own cycle in a month or two!

In the meantime, that doesn't have to stop your chances of TTC...so sex every other day from the end of your period, and perhaps every day around the time you think you're ovulating, and you have all bases covered!

Have fun and maybe we'll be testing together in a few weeks!

Anything different today @Chamonix1 ?

Hi, yes tested again it was negative. No second line so I'm guessing that was my darkest line or I missed it by a few hours. Still fingers crossed as thought it was my fertile window anyway so there's still hope!

It took me a few months to figure out when to test to catch my positive.

I'm sure you caught it! I was reading the tips on the Sperm Meets Egg website, it's interesting.
