Hoping for advice - fertility treatment

We had a meeting with the GP a couple of weeks ago and they told us that my husband has 0 sperm count - he had undescended testicles and only had the operation when he was 9 :-(. We've been having a very difficult year for many reasons and this felt like just another thing to worry about. ,y husband was devastated.

The gp didn't really explain the results or seem to understand them herself and she was unwilling to say what our option for fertility treatment would be if any - I know she isn't an expert so I guess she didn't want to give us inaccurate information.

The semen analysis test results said 0% for the sperm count but also counted 20 sperm with healthy structure and motility.

What does this mean? Do we have any options for fertility treatment at all? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Any information anyone has would be so appreciated.

Thank you so much

My ex DH had zero count and he had something called TESE where they extract it out of his testicles (under sedation).

It's pricey and you then have to ICSI treatment but it worked for us and my 9 year old DD is sleeping next to me!

Where in the country are you for fertility clinics?

Good luck

Thank you so much for replying. If you don't mind me asking, did your ex-DH have obstructive azoospermia or unobstructive azoospermia? We live in reading. We're waiting for referrals and I'm just wondering what our options are. I don't think we could afford private fertility treatment :-(. I'm just hoping my DH's sperm count isn't too low for us to even be eligible to try icsi

He was married before and had a vasectomy, he had it reversed and was still azoo so the only option was ICSI.

So I think that's classed as obstructive. We had to pay from treatment as he had two kids already. We spent £15k in the end but so worth it!

PM if you need any other advice.
