TWW - anyone else testing in early March?

I'm just starting the dreaded TWW and could use some company. All the other threads on this seem to have reached the testing stage already.

I am 2-3 dpo and planning to test on 4 March. We have been TTC for about 18 months and are getting fertility treatment. I am pretty sure I ovulated this month though, so I have have high hopes for this cycle.

I'll join if that's ok? Although I am due to ovulate today so technically not in the 2ww until tomorrow! This is our 4th cycle TTC and our first DC. I'm not getting my hopes up this cycle... did as much as we could but we are having work done on our house and it's a bomb site so I'm thinking the stress might affect us this month.
Sending good vibes to you!
I'm due to test 6th March.

Buddahbelly · 20/02/2017 16:55

Me to if you dont mind, due to test 2nd March... trying not to symptom spot as usual but finding it so hard. Only thing I can relate to my first pg is that I'm waking a lot earlier than usual - 5.30 - 6am, although i'm a terrible sleeper anyway so trying not to relate the 2.

satsoooma · 20/02/2017 17:27

Hi Ethel and Buddah. I'm trying not to symptom spot as well. Although I completely ruined dinner last night by adding way too much salt. DH actually wouldn't let me eat it. Said it would make us sick. I couldn't taste anything unusual Confused

Can I join?
First cycle of trying to conceive dc2. Can't test until the 13th march so she's away.
I'm not using ovulation strips just my app which said yesterday was my most fertile day. Today though I am having mild pains in my pelvic area mostly on the left. Not sure if that's ovulation pains

doodledragon · 20/02/2017 18:23

Hello, me too!

Possibly ovulated today; I had a positive opk yesterday. This is cycle 3 for #2. With ds1 it was ridiculously easy so already I'm getting frustrated! I'm also just 40 so it may not be an easy ride.

ethelfleda · 20/02/2017 19:48

Lol satsooma- that made me chuckle!
My poor DH is sooo stressed out about the building work I feel bad for talking about TTC but I think it's a welcome distraction and something positive to focus on. Going to try not to symptom spot this time as had all the symptoms going last few times and Nada!

satsoooma · 20/02/2017 19:49

Hi popcorn! Sounds like it could be ovulation pains. Feels like a tugging sensation, or very mild period pains to me, although obviously further to the left/right than normal.

It sucks when TTC takes longer than you expected Doodle. I find these threads a huge help though, just knowing that it worked out for people in worse situations than me.

Buddahbelly · 20/02/2017 21:29

Ethel...I wouldn't be so sure, have you ever watched homes under the hammer or grand designs, a couple buy a house, start major renovations and bang...they're immediately pregnant. 😉

I've had a few previous mc's, the last being December so started fresh I'm on cycle #2 now, and swallowing folic acid by the bottle!

stuckinny · 20/02/2017 22:10

I'd like to join. According to CB ovulated yesterday (got a peak on Saturday). Due to test around the 6th.
It's been a few cycles for me too. It's definitely harder as you get older.

ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 07:47

Haha buddha I never thought of it that way!
Also very sorry to hear about your losses! I hope this is your month!
Based on a usual cycle I would have normally o'd yesterday but I'm not convinced I have yet Confused
Much more DTDing to be done then until I'm certain Wink

Sending positive vibes to everyone else also x

harrypotternerd · 21/02/2017 08:17

I am impatiently awaiting early march. I am 5dpo right now. Have been googling very early pregnancy signs which is stupid lol

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 08:44

Hey ladies hope I can join!
Due to test 3/4th march time!
3rd cycle, also not feeling hopeful, dtd every other day throughout my fertile window but just doesn't feel enough :/ tried using opks but just can't get on with them! X

doodledragon · 21/02/2017 09:11

Hello Dangle. I hadn't got on with opks till this month. I tested daily till around day 9, then 3 times a day . I caught a positive at 5 pm and 8:30 pm on Sunday. Apparently they're more likely to show in the afternoon. These were just the cheap one step ones.

I'm cramping today - I don't normally notice it - talk about symptom spotting!

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 09:21

I feel like I get cramps for days after suspected ovulation... weird!
How to you manage to do that at work though that's how I struggle, and the whole not having a drink for hours before, just feels like hassle!! Got almost a positive on fri I think so assuming I ovulated after x

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 09:23

Left is Friday's test, and right is Sunday's (didn't do one sat) but Dp was on a stag do anyway. What you think :/ x

xStefx · 21/02/2017 09:28

Hello :-) can I join you ladies please? I am 4 days DPO Cycle 3. I used OPK's this month for the first time as I have a 28 day cycle and assumed I ovulated on day 14. However I found out that I was actually ovulating on day 10. Luckily enough we had made provisions for that ...lol
AF due 6th March. Also only have one tube (left) but ovulated from the left this month so am hoping this could be the month.

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 09:31

Hi Steph 👋🏼 x

doodledragon · 21/02/2017 10:05

Dangle, try the evening? As soon as back from work. Mine showed as strongly at 8:30 pm. I didn't bother with the not drinking bit! I found it very hard at work last month; this month it's fallen while I'm not plus it's half term!

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 10:10

Don't you think I'll of missed it by now though, according to Ovia I'm out of my fertile window, and Sundays looks very faded like I've missed it. But we dtd every other day over fertile window so hopefully I caught it wherever it was. Oh don't you? That's what was stressing me out the most the not been able to drink etc! X

xStefx · 21/02/2017 10:19

I test at 4pm when I get home from work . I had a faint line Thursday (4pm) , strong on Friday (4pm) and strong again 10am Saturday .. then nothing on sunday. I had been drinking tea in work all day and it still worked :-)

doodledragon · 21/02/2017 10:35

To be honest dangle, if you're dtd regularly over the fertile period, you're pretty much covered, an opk only gives you some info on a surge for future reference - to give info on what tends to happen for you. Temping confirms ovulation too, again only to let you know for future reference.

My first son was conceived via every other day during an app guessed fertile period (my periods are 24/25 days though sometimes 29) so my fertile period can be from day 8- day 18! Hence I wanted a clearer picture for me.

In hind sight I saw a slightly stronger opk on day 10 with my son (morning testing) and he was apparently conceived on day 11. But it was of no actual use at the time! It was my first month of trying - the every other day but was the key bit.

satsoooma · 21/02/2017 10:37

I test at work - around 2pm. I basically don't go to the loo or have tea/coffee between lunch and 2pm, which is not very long at all. Then I have a teeny-tiny jam jar that I can fit in my pocket, together with an amazon cheapie OPK test. I do the test, go make some tea, then stop by the loo again after 10 mins to check the result.

Sorry Dangle, but those look negative to me. If you have regular cycles, then you are probably ovulating, so as long as you DTD regualrly, OPKs aren't necessary. But if you want to keep using them, maybe try testing a few different times during the afternoon. Also maybe widen the range of days you are testing - even with regular cycles, the peak could come much earlier/later than you are expecting. CD10-25 should cover it.

This is my positive from this cycle (on the right). I am so proud of it, because I have PCOS and managing to ovluate at all is a big deal for me :) I think this is only the 2nd-3rd time in two years!

Thanks so much for your advice ladies I do appreciate it!! First week of Dec I came off the pill so it was more of a just checking I was actually ovulating which I'm sure I am, we have been dtd in my fertile window since then but as stated earlier I suppose it's just luck isn't it :), I knew the opks weren't positive, I wasn't doing them enough to catch my positive, only done them a few times. My periods are regular though so again thanks for all the advice I think I will just give them a miss next month as was causing more stress than anything else I think! Good luck to you all 😘

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 10:59

Congrats on the positive opk satsooma! Good luck 😁
