when am I late?

Was wondering if I could collect a few opinions on this:

Since coming off the pill last summer my cycles have been kinda irregular but regular at the same time: my last one was 30, but before that have alternated at 25 or 29 days, so averaging 27.

So what would you consider 'late' - a couple of days after day 25, after the average of 27, or after day 29?

I don't think there's anyway to know, as you won't know if it was going to be a 25 day month or 29 day until af happens. I'd test on day 29 so you can be sure of the result, but I don't really go in for early testing.

Thank you - I think that's what I needed to hear - I keep getting antsy and wanting to test from day 26, but I know there is no point as I might not be late yet.

Not until after 29 days. My cycles flutuate from 25-31 days. I usually know when I ovulate so I can guess when AF is coming. You could starting basal body temping so you aren't guessing anymore as this will tell you when you have ovulated.

If you start charting and doing your BBT you should be able to work out when you're ovulating and also how long your luteal phase is. Once you know these two things, you can work out when your period is due each month. Luteal phase is usually the same number of days each time.
