Afternoon ladies,

Totally new to this so here goes. I'm getting married in June and obvs keen to get baby making asap!

I'm on cerelle and thinking of coming off at the end of the packet end of March. Just after a bit of advice as to how long you ladies got your BFP after coming off.

Lots of love xx

Well, i've been off it for 56 days with no period (& not pregnant!), so if i were you i would definitely stop taking it after your pack ends in March to give your body time to get back to normal Smile

Thanks @redpony1 - I've scanned every single possible thread but there all so old. Some people have said they've come off and had fallen pregnant before their withdrawal bleed. I don't mind being 4-5 weeks pregnant by wedding day I just don't want to spend my wedding morning and honeymoon with bad sickness Confused

I got married in October, came off cerelle in July and used condoms until start of October. Now half way through cycle 4 and nothing yet.

Thanks ladies, you've been helpful! I think I'll just come off it end of March and use other protection (Sad borinnggg.. haha!) hopefully my body works itself back pretty soon. Have you been actively TTC since October?

I came off it in Feb last year having been on it for about 2 years and microgynon for 5 years before that, conceived in April only to mc in early may but then conceived again in June and am now nearly 35 weeks pregnant, I think it different for everybody but I seemed to be back to a normal cycle after just 1 month which surprised me having been on the pill for 7ish years

@april1992 wow that was speedy! Congrats with your pregnancy, do you know what your having? I'll be 22 when we get married (young I know!) together at 18, engaged at 19, first mortgaged house at 20 and wedding when I'm 22. It only feels natural to take the second step. I hope I'm as quick to conceive as you we're! I've been wanting a baby for so long I have a massive void in my life so I'm hoping it comes sooner rather than later..just not too soon I can't get down that aisle Wink haha.

P.S sorry to hear about your mc x

I came off it and got pregnant 5 months later.
Where are you going on honeymoon? Is zika a factor?

Report
xlaura · 31/01/2017 21:00

@lozza92 the above post was meant for you. I have no idea how april1992 got in there..wish I could blame it on baby brain but I can't haha!! Hmm

@oysterbabe we are honeymooning in Maldives. We have been keeping an eye on zika and it was removed from the list. It's just so hard to know what to do..maybe I'll just stay in the room all day and night and have room service then I can't get bitten? CakeWine don't think hubby to be would be too impressed knowing the money we spent on it. Altho it could work out in our favour.. more time inside means more sexy time GrinWink #winallround haha

I think the Maldives still have a moderate risk of Zika? If so the advice is that pregnant women shouldn't go there and you shouldn't ttc for 6 months after as men can carry it for that long. I think there is a blood test you can pay for though. It's worth looking in to, you don't want to spend your honeymoon worrying about it.

xlaura thanks, it was speedy wasn't it? I'm having a little girl and I can't wait to meet her now, DW about feeling young I only turned 24 in October and not married yet but have been with OH for nearly 8 years, so got together at 16! As long as you are happy then it shouldn't matter how old or young you are Smile

I'd recommend coming off the contraception then try doing a more natural form of contraception (take ovulation tests) and know your cycle so you don't get caught too early. That way you can start making headway with hormones (the joys of coming off contraception!!) and begin preparing your body for baby making.

When I came off it I had a small bleed straight away, was unprotected from the word go and got pregnant almost immediately, before my first period.

Aw thanks Laura! Hope everything goes smoothly for you. I married in October at 24! I love it! My cousin came off the pill the same time as me and is very pregnant so o think I totally depends on your body. Best to start natural contraceptives and track your cycles though if you're really keen. Lots of luck for you and congrats on your wedding!

@oysterbabe I know it's very mild. It's always a worry regardless - Is a serious over thinker and think the worst about everything (never come to me if your after positivity haha!) I will make an appointment with my GP once I've come off and see what there advice is. I'm not missing out on Maldives maybe it'll just be steering clear from the love sausage a few months after just to be on the safe side

@lozza92 aww congrats!! I'd love a little girl - they always tend to have a better bond and stay around for a lot longer even when there married. Or maybe that's just me and my mum? Haha.. we are both super happy. It's not always hunky dory but the pros by far outweigh the cons but hey, who's relationship is perfect after all! Keep me updated with the pregnancy..would love to know how you got on x

@adory I was thinking OPK as a lot of people are mentioning them on other threads. Not a clue how they work but I'm sure I could try once end of March gets here. I'm actually a much nicer person off the pill (I'm a vile human on it haha!) I already have high oestrogen levels so I'm only allowed the mini pill and I've had a break in it before and thought I was preggers but after reading other people's posts I was reassured and 2 clear blue tests later I was much happier haha! Thanks for the advice x

@d270r0 I've had a break or so with it before for my own sanity really and had a withdrawal bleed a few days after it but nothing too drastic. I'm hoping my body will rectify itself pretty soon so I can keep control date wise just so I know when to avoid any nookie. Failing that I'll just live in the spare room for a couple of months..haha Wink don't exactly think I'd be in good books if I did that somehow haha!

@charley2016 I don't even know what the day is let alone what I'm doing with my life..this wedding planning malarkey is taking over my life. Working full time and running a house and looking after a puppy is certainly testing me. I take my hat off to these wedding planners haha! Aww, I'm sure your time will come soon enough Smile I'm hoping lots of baby dust is coming my way in the next few months x

I came off Cerelle at the start of July, found out I was pregnant mid-August so never actually got a period! DS2 is now a strapping 9.5 month old!

It look me 8 months to get a period but then conceived quickly after that. I'd never take it again though I had no idea I was borderline depressed until I stopped taking it and felt normal again!

@introvertedbuthappy wowza that was quick! It's so mixed with that pill some people have fallen to quick and some have been TTC for near on a year. Just pot luck and good timing I spose.. congrats on your little bundle of joy who is now not so little x

@dottydee3 sometimes I feel a little weird. It's hard to describe but almost like I don't wake up my normal self and somebody else is acting as me today. Ofc when I tell people this I get all sorts of looks and now they all think I need sectioning because I've lost the plot HmmGrin I can't wait to be back to my normal self after. I will probably end up going back on the coil again and see if it helps (had severe bleeding for 4 months and caused fluid in my uterus so several internal ultrasounds were nor was I was after) x

Hash the wedding planning is mad! I run 4 childcare settings, am in the last year of a degree and have my house. It seems so stressful at the time but when it all happens it's like you want to do it all over again. I think I was doing so much for the wedding that I've had to swap that for stressing about baby making. Make sure you enjoy every minute of it, it really is the best day of your life.

@charley2016 wowzas...you make my life seem pretty relaxed Shock I don't know how you do a degree ive got the attention span of a gnat haha!? I'm looking forward to it, my dress is everything I could've dreamed of and more. We've had a little bit of trouble in my family with close relatives so a lot of people that are first family aren't actually attending which will be there regret one day I'm sure. It's so hard trying to make everything perfect but I truly cannot wait for the day to get here..x
