BBT... Can anyone explain how it's done?

Just that really- I'd like to know how to track temp? What sort of thermometer to use and when to do it?

Been TTC since Oct and seems my cycles are all over the place. This month I Ov'd according to +OPK then started to bleed after 5 days, not implantation but more period like. We're putting TTC on hold for a few months and thought I'd use this time to get my head around my cycle but no longer so keen on OPKs.

Please enlighten me on the process of BBT tracking!!! Thanks in advance smile

The Kindara app has knowledge pages and explains it really well. Try there!

Or buy a copy of "Taking Charge of your Fertility" which is brilliant. Very long and I don't think available on kindle though.

And buy yourself one of these as you must use a two decimal place thermometer!

Good luck!

I was always put off doing BBT as it can be inaccurate if you get up from bed through the night to wee/see to other DC's etc. If you get in bed and stay there until the same time every morning then it's worth doing as it's extremely accurate. I found more use out of a digital ovulation machine (the Clearblue) good luck flowers

Thanks for replies. I have heard of that book Newton's, might get a copy from the library.
Hmmmm, CupOf- I'm still up around 3 or 4am every night to Bf DD. I guess this would skew readings or could I temp at this time before I get up?

I often get up in the middle of the night then sleep on and off for a few hours before waking up properly, and temping works fine for me, always able to see a clear pattern. I also just use a normal digital thermometer from Boots and that's ok too. It only cost about £5 so worth giving it a shot and seeing how you get on. I second the recommendation for Kindara, it's a really good app!
