Chemical miscarriage?

Hi all

I'm just looking for advice as I'm beside myself atm

I've had severe nausea for 2 weeks, sore breasts, darkening of the nipples and a total of 8 very faint positive tests.

My last period was 12th dec and my next was due on 11th Jan and got another faint positive yesterday but I had a pulling/straining feeling in my uterus and this morning I've woken up with heavy bleeding and painful cramps.

Does this mean i was never pregnant or I'm having a miscarriage? Do I need to go see my GP? We haven't told anyone we are ttc so I can't ask anyone for advice, I feel like I'm going crazy!

Hi there,
I believe I have had two chemical pregnancies (one in Oct and another this week). Unfortunately it does sound like this may be what you are experiencing. I knew I was pregnant & had symptoms both times too. I took tests after my period was due & got positives both times but then had heavy bleeding & cramps a few days after I was due on (heavier than a normal period).
I hear they are incredibly common (not that it makes it any easier) & many don't even know they are pregnant & put it down to a late heavier period.
I didn't go to the doctor & just let nature take its course.
From what I have read the egg is fertilised but doesn't implant properly in the uterus so you get the early pregnancy symptoms & postive test but sadly it doesn't progress.
I hope this helps even if it's not what you want to hear (this is only my experience of course).
Sending you best wishes & hugs x

Thank you for that info, I definitely think that's what's happened =( I didn't think it would affect me but I'm devastated, doesn't help with the agony cramps I'm having.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through it too, it well and truly sucks

My DH isn't overly bothered and says we'll try again next month but understands how upset I am

Sending you hugs and baby dust xx

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through :( I was upset too. It really is cruel getting a positive test & then having it all taken away such a short time after. On a positive note I have been pregnant twice before (my sons are 5 & 3) & I had no problems conceiving. I hope the cramps ease soon & wishing you all the best x

I've had this for the past two months in a row. Worried something is wrong and I have issues with implantation.

I'm 10 days PO this month and getting symptoms, but scared the same thing will happen.

I feel the same now I've had two it's worrying me that something is wrong. But I think it's really important to stay positive & not stress about it (easier said than done I know). I've already decided if I have another early miscarriage I will go to see thr dr & ask them to investigate. Twice seems like it could just be unfortunate but I feel like if it happens a third time then maybe something's not as it should be. I hope this is your month & there are no problems. Sending baby dust your way x

Aw thanks hazy and same to you of course. Smile

I have a DS who I conceived in the first month of trying, very easy pregnancy, so this uncertainty is new to me. I guess I've got to keep hoping and like you say, try not to stress.

Hugs.

That's good you have conceived & all has been fine before (same here with my 2 DS's) so it is a shock when it doesn't go to plan. I'm wondering if it's because I'm older now (35). I had my DS's at 29 & 32...though it's easy to overthink it! Has made me realise how much I want a third.
