Conception

2 week wait - again!

It's that time of the month again. The dreaded two week wait. 3rd month of trying and 1st month using ovulation kits.

Last month I convinced myself I was pregnant and obviously wasn't so trying not to do that this month.

Finding the whole process very draining to be honest. DH and I don't have very high sex drives. We're normally once a week people and are both fine with that. So having to do the deed when neither of us really want to is not as fun as I'd hoped! But we managed 3 times in ovulation week this month so fingers crossed.

Anyone else want a 2ww buddy? Smile

Hi Smile I too am trying.
But I think convincing yourself that your pregnant when you don't have any evidence, i.e: positive pregnancy test result really isn't healthy for you or your mind, as your setting yourself up for disappointment & downfall, which would make you more upset. You need to relax, and chill out. Don't dread the 2 weeks, you should just carry on life as normal in this time & let nature do its thing, without it being constantly on your mind. I know it's hard, but you sound like the whole thing is stressing you out and that can effect your chances of conceiving.

Hi CatLover. When did you ovulate? I'm 12dpo so not long left to wait but it's been so hard and I'm so very tempted to test tomorrow. I've actually hidden the tests away in the bedroom so can't sneak one to the bathroom unless I'm real obvious about it. I don't want to let my husband know when I'm testing as would rather surprise him with a positive than disappoint him with a negative iyswim. No point both us being disappointed!!

The days I haven't found too bad but struggling to distract myself in the evenings!!

Fingers crossed this month is your month!!

I'm 2ww too. Although not really sure if it's 2w or more than that - my last couple of cycles have been short.
Had a complete melt down yesterday at the thought of actually being pregnant but feeling much better about it today. DC is 9, almost 10 and I'm not sure how he'll take the news (I'm no longer with his dad). Also panicked about going home for Christmas and being able to keep it a secret if it did happen.
Anyway, fingers crossed for all of you.

I am in my tww too. Af is due the weekend of 26/27th so still a long time to go. Hoping my birthday next Wednesday will be a distraction. This is my third cycle and I have done no sort of tracking but managed to dtd 3.5 times last week so fingers crossed that will be enough. If anyone is confused by the .5 of dtd it's because my oh got foot cramp and so was unable to finish the deed if you get my drift.

I'm on the 2ww too. Think I'm 2 or 3 dpo. I'm nursing a poorly DS who has tonsillitis and croup so didn't manage to dtd as many times as I should have. Did it 3 times during fertile period...so let's see. Good luck to all Star

I've bought intetnet cheapie tests but also bought myself a first response earlier today so I can test early and poas on Saturday... I'm a nightmare!!

I'm on CD24 symptom spotting like made as I've been feeling very strange, aching back and stomach pains, loads of creamy cm, eating loads, feeling sick, exhausted etc. I tested with a FRER this morning and BFN. Not sure with my differing cycles if I should be showing by now or if it's all in my head and I'm not pregnant. I have another 2 tests (boots have FRERs BOGOF incase anyone needs) and I know I'm not going to be able to not test each morning now Confused

I'm adamant I won't test unless af is late. Can't face seeing bfn. It's not meant to be this month then I'd rather see af!

Janipop I'm right with you. AF is due next week and I'm hoping the craziness of Thanksgiving will keep my mind busy. I'm hoping I last the whole weekend before testing

I really want to not test until the weekend but I'm feeling awful and want to know if there's a reason for it before I go running to the docs Sad I'm going to try my hardest to hold out though!

Can I join? I'm also in my 2ww and AF due 23/11. Feeling a bit crazy and have major rage at the tiniest things this week. DH didn't put new hand soap in the kitchen when what was there ran out and I had a massive go at him- because clearly this is his job? How could he be so callous?

Otherwise i've had touches of nausea, bit of light cramping/back pain and i've been exhausted. I keep obsessing over bbs, willing them to ache , but they don't. Most of this could just be a combo of PMS and stress though.

I'm currently 9DPO and cracked today and tested on my lunch break- BFN. It was only a cheapie and also not FMU so holding out hope...

DH says i'm such a hypochondriac all my 'symptoms' are probably in my head. :/

I think it's easy to look for symptoms and it's natural when you want something so much!! But I'm trying to stick to the theory that we've tried our best over my fertile period now let's just get on and see what happens. I am yet to do a pregnancy test.....ever!!!! Xx

Hi everyone! Nice to know others are in the same boat. It's cycle day 18 for me. I think I ovulated on cycle day 13 and AF is due next fri 26th. Trying not to obsess this month and weirdly it does feel like it's going in quicker. Currently distracting myself by watching those crazy folks on married at first sight!

Hi ladies
I shall join you too for the 2ww. I'm on CD22 but wasn't tracking this month as we were supposed to be having a break, oops! My cycles are a bit erratic and can be from 27 days to 35 days, and since I wasn't tracking no idea when and if ovulation happened or when to test.
stuckinny I'm also getting a bit carried away with how i'm going to hide my (imaginary) pregnancy over the festive period!

JB1983 lol I feel better knowing someone else is in the same boat. I haven't been home for Christmas for a few years and I'm sure my sister will guess something is up if I don't have a drink or two.

Haha! I'm another one with the 'what if's'
I have a girls weekend abroad the first weekend in December and there's no way they won't guess if I go all weekend without a drink!
Really should have waited until afterwards but we got a bit carried away and GP repeatedly told me due to my age I have no time to waste and pill should take 3-6mth to clear from my system! Lol

I think I've been asked our ever weekend from now until January! And I'm sure it's only because people want to see if I turn it down for any reason. I must of had someone ask every day since we got married if we are pregnant yet! Ive told everyone were not trying until summer but it still doesn't help!! Managed to hold of testing today. Period tracker predicted my period today and Ovia is saying to test tomorrow but I shall try my very hardest keep my last test until Sunday!
