hi everyone,

me and my husband have been trying to conceive our second child. i had a miscarriage September but was very early stages. i decided out of infection and for my own sanity really to not try and conceive for a month to get my body back on track. so i have had a normal period sins the miscarriage. we did the deed on the night (27th october) before the morning of my ovulation day (28th october). im not due on until the 10th of November so 5 days time. was wondering when people tested, what kind of symptoms to look out for at this stage if i was to be pregnant... other than a missed period? :)

thanks girlies x

Its hard to say, and "symptoms" before 5-6 weeks pregnant are usually psychological. Some people feel a bit tired and you can get tender breasts etc but its different for everyone.

If you want to completely rule out a false negative, then test the day your period is due (if it hasn't arrived of course). Earlier than that, the likelihood of getting a false negative increases with each additional day before your period. A lot of people test from 9-10dpo, some get a positive straight away and others get a negative then get a positive later on. It depends how much hcg is in your system by that point.

I don't think there are many specific symptoms to look out for- a lot of pre-menstrual symptoms e.g. bloating, tender breasts and tiredness could just be prior to your period arriving, rather than caused by pregnancy per se.

It's frustrating but there's not much else you can do apart from wait to test when your period is due!

As I have discovered over the last few months of trying and wondering and waiting.

Good luck!

thankyou both!

and i know about the psychological lol because i convinced myself it was just in my mind because your 'looking out for them' arent you. ive tested early before and was neg and then the day of period i tested and was positive so. it is so frustrating isnt it yet when i had my first she wasnt planned and just seemed so simple!!! lol.

im due on in 5 days so lets hope she doesnt show. could do with some nice news tehe.

trying not to think about it because i feel that has an effect! silly right ha
