Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (AF) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier.

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around too. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, temp experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

I am feeling the usual pre AF cramps so i am waiting for AF to show up either tomorrow or on Saturday.
Booked a SA for DH on Tuesday following Jem's example instead of waiting for him to book :). Although he is so nervous about it i am not even sure he ll be able to go through it ! Tbh if there is anything wrong with us i would rather its me that has the problem as i think i ll be more proactive about it
I also have a GP appointment next week . Skipper any advice on how to make them take me seriously ? I ll be on cycle 11 then but i will tell them we are trying for a year!

main focus at present is to get fit !! week2 of c25k, so I'll be nice and healthy for ttc once first AF comes. When AF arrives (guessing 1st Nov, purely based on sods law) will go back to opk and pma.

Am also keeper of the stats !! so let me know when your AF is due and i'll add you to the list !!!

Hi girls Brew
I'm Jem, I'm 32
TTC 1
Cycle 11

DH has low morphology so we are up testing alley trying to work out what's going on. I'm in the GP waiting room as I type!

Good luck Nicky getting his SA done, I know exactly what you mean about it being easier if the problem is with us. DH really needs to give up alcohol and coffee - possibly his two favourite things - I had to remind him daily for over a week to buy proxeed and despite being referred for a second SA about two weeks ago he still hasn't taken the sample in 🙄

Welcome newbies, fx for lots of BFPs on this thread.

Have had a totally reliable cycle until TTC. Normally around 30 days, but last two were 38 then 36. Possibly due to long haul travel. No sign of AF yet though other than boobs that feel a little bit like they are on fire! Will test at the weekend if nothing happens.

LondonJem · 20/10/2016 11:49

GP was lovely. She said what can I do for you? I cried. She has ordered day 21 blood test and will test for ovulation, thyroid, prolactin and something else? Also ordered a pelvic scan. Think that's the one up the foof.

DH has to do his second SA, then with all our results we get referred to the fertility centre at the Homerton.

Not quite the beautiful conception I always dreamed of, but feel like we are getting somewhere.

When I say Cycle 1 I just want to point out that I have been using the "pull out and pray" method for the last 5 years. Tracking periods for 2 years. Over the last few months been avoiding fertile days but not really preventing. And weirdly like you Monkey my cycles have gone weird ever since I've started sort-of trying. It's like my body knows and is trying to mess with me.

My left boob hurts so I've decided I'm POSSIBLY pregnant. Gawd.

MouseLove I'm getting my hopes up for you. Just sayin'.

Hep I've also decided to get fit. Started going back to the pool after a year or two off. Feels nice to be doing something proactive.

Hi all. sighs here we go again.

Age: 28
Cycle: maybe call it 6? - mc in August (at 11 weeks) after 5 cycles, still waiting for mc to finish for good.

Currently seeing a chiropractor, an acupuncturist, about 3 different GPs and a herbalist and feel utterly barren and desolate. Spending most of my time consoling DH and his dying mother and feeling like a horrible person, the rest of my time working, trying to get to the gym, sorting out a house we are renting out and organising a house move for us. Being a grown up IS SHIT.

AF due today but so far no sign, just creamy CM and very tender nipples. Normally have spotting pre- AF and have had nothing this month, however as DH was ill through most of the FW and we've had a poor month of DTD I'm thinking this is just a weird cycle Sad

Nicky sounds like a good plan- LSFX

Hep keep it up with the c25k- very impressed! Thank you for keeping the stats up to date Smile

Excellent news Jem that they are investigating

Alexia - Thank you for the new thread. I had responded to the last thread when I then realised everyone had moved to this.

I don't post often as I don't have much to share. Since MC on 23rd Sept, I have not really had any symptoms to note. Not even a sore boob, cramp, spots or wind.

10dpo today according to FF and positive opk cd15-18.
AF expected on 25th Oct

I am not hopeful for this cycle as we have been dtd as and when we feel like it rather than timing it at the right time. I did however, continue tracking using opks and started temping on cd11.

For our 1st pregnancy that ended in a mc at 5+5 we got bfp during cycle 2 after completely not following the rules properly during cycle 1 (being 200 miles away from DH 3 days before ovulation up to 1 day after didn't help either). After AF, I will try to do everything I did during cycle 2 last time and see if it makes a difference.

Anybody considering not TTC in Nov to avoid having an August EDD? I am considering it. My concern is that we might be TTC for a long time and then feel like I wasted a cycle that could have been. I guess this business of waiting is only a luxury afforded by the young or those that haven't been trying for long.

Welcome all newbies :)

crom that's very similar to me as I was using the "pull out and pray" haha method for years and tracking cycles for the 'safe' times. Hopefully you'll catch quicker than I did with a nice sticky bean!

Binky fx for you!

Jem really pleased it went well and you have a plan.

notyet yes I am, that's part of the reason we're NTNP this month. I realise that having a September EDD doesn't guarantee anything as baby could come early anyway. Obviously it's a very personal choice and I am youngish at 25 but we have been doing this since Feb/March 2015. We're focusing on getting our bodies prepared for Dec-June in hopes of a Sept-March baby (ideally).

Good luck to all those testing soon!

If anyone's interested after lots of research these are the supplements/diet I have DH on daily:
Omega 3 - 2000mg
Multivitamin + Iron
Folic Acid - 400mcg
Calcium & Vit D (combined)
Vitamin C - 500mg
Zinc 30mg
Co-enzyme Q-10 - 400mg
Selenium 200mcg (Brazil nuts)
L-Arginine (Walnuts/Almonds)
No alcohol or caffeine
Almost no sugar apart from fruits (mostly anti-oxidant fruit/berries)
All home-cooked, non-processed food

Not all of these are new additions but I hope in 2-3 months time we'll see the rewards!

My grandfather died this morning :( He was 91. I always had a close/special relationship with him and I'm quite sad I can't make it to the funeral. I'm glad he's with my Nana now, not in pain anymore and at peace.

I am sorry for your loss Alexia :( Good work on getting your DH taking vitamins! does he take one of those per day ? i wish my DH was so committed i must give him the wellman conception each night after dinner and vitamin D in the morning. If i leave him to it he ll forget . Sometimes i think i already have a child ! him!

NotYetThere tbh i have been trying for so long I couldn't care less when my EDD would be ;p I just want to have an EDD !

Flowers Alexia even though it may not have been unexpected at that age, it doesn't make it any easier. I am sorry for your loss.

crom the other reason for getting fit is that it is a good way for helping with stress. And reducing stress is one of the best things you can do for ttc.

Given this was the reason i skipped periods earlier in the year, i am keen for it not to mess with my cycle again. I may also try to make it to yoga this afternoon!

So sorry about your grandfather Alexia I lost my nanna aged 90 in 2003. It's a fantastic age to reach. I can understand about how you feel about him being at peace now.

I'm interested to see you have your DH taking lots of supplements too, including folic acid... is it beneficial? My DH takes nothing.

Forgot to say I had my bloods done this morning for my arthritis testing. I mentioned I had stopped taking my pill and was waiting for my first period and she didn't even mention the idea of me being upduffed pahaha! Ah well. I've had absolutely NO symptoms today of AF coming so I think I'm in for a long and weird cycle. Unless of course the test on Saturday comes up lucky.

I had a google last night (I know I know, naughty mouse) about my low temps and it points to a possible thyroid problem? But then I've lost 2 stone this year and that doesn't add up. Ah I should stop guessing. Sad

Thank you all for the kind words, means a lot.

Nicky yes everything is daily or the daily amounts he takes (sometimes it works out as 2 tablets i.e. Q10) I'm lucky that DH is really into TTC and is happy to take everything I tell him without a daily reminder. Well done on booking your DH's SA, FX all goes well. Is he doing it at Create?

Hep well done with the c2k. Are you using a treadmill?

Mouse I'd get your DH on some supplements as they can help lots. Folic Acid is very important. Mine is on 600mcg a day (400mcg+ 200mcg in the multivit) but after reading this just now I might make him take 1000mcg -

"Dads-to-be need to think about what goes into their bodies, too. That’s because there’s evidence showing a link between folic acid and male fertility — and when it comes to folic acid, it seems more is more. In fact, one study showed that men who consume high levels of folic acid (over 700 mcg a day) actually lower their risk of sperm abnormalities by 20 to 30 percent. Why is that good? Well, the higher the quality of a guy’s sperm, the lower the chances of chromosomal abnormalities that can lead to birth defects, like Down syndrome, in babies. In other words, a great way for your partner to safeguard his boys is by loading up on folic acid (as well as other vitamins and minerals)."

I think the less you think about AF the less stressed you'll be. Try to relax and wait it out (easier said than done I know). This whole ttc thing is a long, annoying waiting game! Hopefully you get a surprise from the blood test ;)

Was also meant to say mouse that low temps can be due to a thyroid issue but if you haven't ovulated yet you'd expect to see low. How low are they exactly? My last two temps were 36.00 but that's normal as my pre-O range is anywhere from 35.80-36.25 but usually between 36.00-36.20.
