So I am only really cycle 2 and am really quite new to all this!

I have read that you can DTD too much when trying to concieve but I can't really get my head around this as surly the more the better (In so many more ways that one! Haha)

What has been your experience? Do you know if this is true why it is? Did you do it daily/twice daily/weekly?

Thanks all smile

I think that is really only a 'problem' if sperm level are a bit low, as dtd 'too often' might mean there is not a lot of time to replenish stocks... Most GPs would probably recommend every other day throughout the cycle.

Ah ok so that makes more sense - I guess they have to 'build up a bit'.

I think I have a slight impatient problem and am at risk of getting a tad carried away Haha grin

We dtd every day as usual when ttc and it must have worked as I'm pregnant.

For one cycle we trialled every other day after reading up on sperm stuff. But in the same way that doing it more often than you want to isn't a good idea, not doing it as often as you want to seems daft!

Good luck smile

Thank you!

I'm trying to do everything right (probably totally failing ha!) I also started on pregnacare and stopped smoking / drinking etc

It does still seem so alien to me though! I spent so long terriefied of getting pregnant and now it's all I can really think about haha! I'm 26 and in a really good relationship, but I am sure I will still revert back to a 16 year old and panic when I tell my parents if and when I do get pregnant!

You're doing all the right things! Good luck. Eat well, keep on the vitamins, get enough sleep, dtd when you and your DP/DH want to, try not to focus on the etc part too much - though that's an awful lot easier said than done smile

I really like Ovia Fertility, which is a free app. Use the bits that are useful to you. i tracked symptoms and cm and dtd. Didn't bother with diet, sleeping hours etc or temping, but it covers all that if you want to get more serious!

Every other day is recommended but I think you have to be doing it multiple times a day to really have a problem with the sperm counts dropping. We aimed for every other day and then got my BFP on the month we had only had sex once in my fertile period hmm

I am 26 as well and telling my parents was sooo hard, I'm married they love my DH and we are comfortable if not well off so I had no reason to feel like a naughty teen and yet.... blush It did feel a bit like announcing that we'd been having sex! They took it well though and are really excited, hope yours are as supportive as and when!

I'm 25, ttc no 1, happily married in our own house etc and I too am blush at the thought of telling my parents. I have no idea why, dh and I laugh about it but I squirm at the thought too grin We are probably dtd once or twice a week at the moment.
