I've just reached cycle 10 and I'm despairing. I've tried to stay focused and positive all this time but it's all gotten a bit much. Each month I've tried something new but nothing seems to be working. (This month is acupuncture month, last month was fertilitea month)!

I guess I just needed to vent BlushI don't want to sound like a total debbie downer but today's been tough!

Hi kookie, Ive but been off contraception for 10 but been properly trying for 7, Af due Tomos and bfn so imagine I'm onto cycle 8. It does get harder and each month I start off full of positivity and it just slowly drains away. Got an unexpected baby bomb today and it's not going to be a pregnancy I can avoid so will be hearing updates on a weekly basis. The person wasn't even trying and it was completely unplanned. I actually cried in front of them today which was mortifying and not something I want to repeat. Never thought I'd be that person who cries at someone else being pregnant. I feel like I need a vent too xz

Hi can I join too please, Been trying for nearly a year now and in that time ive been pg twice both ending in a mmc around 6-7 weeks. Im due on on friday but already getting the mood swings and headaches so not holding out much hope at all.

Have any of you seen your doctors over it? I went last week and shes sending me for blood tests, one is tomorrow on day 21 and the other is on day 3 of cycle. Hoping they give some answers.

Hi, I'd like to join too please. I understand your venting: I saw an adorable baby on the bus today, and just about burst into tears! We started TTC #1 in Jan, fell in Feb, and miscarried in March. No pregnancy yet since and also despairing...and kicking myself for feeling so low. We've also tried relaxing, SMEP, OPKs, etc... We are both 34 so have seen the GP for baseline bloods (all normal) and are now waiting for semen analysis and fertility referral. This TTC business is much harder than I expected...

Hello user, keeping and Buddha. So sorry to hear all three of you have suffered miscarriages. When I'm feeling down I do count myself as lucky that as yet my trying for a baby 'journey' has been pretty standard. I really hope you get some good news soon!
AF srrived today. Which is cycle 8 now, I have also tried OPKs & SMEP, this month we are throwing it all out and only having sex when we feel like it. I am however going to take evening primrose oil as this can improve the quality of CM. I have been to the doctors but only to almost register with them that I'm trying, if this does take a year and I go back I want to almost have it on record of when I started trying. My mum has kindly offered to Loan myself and partner money to have a 'fertility mot' it's a two hour assessment where they check both of you over. Not sure I'm ready for that yet xx

Hi lelly thank you :)
Myself and my partner did the same thing for the last six months just 'did it' when we wanted too and see what happens I don't want to get into 'just baby making sex' but this is the first month I'm doing ovulation tests. What a good idea about registering yourself! And how kind of your mum! I wish you all the luck!!!!!! Hi holzy! How terrible for you :( that would drive me crazy! But a massive positive that the tests came back that way! What keeps me going is although I had a mmc at least I know pregnancy is possible! I'm sending lots of positive thoughts for you all :) don't give up ladies xxx

Af arrived this morning, don't know why I let myself believe that this time would be any different but I just felt different than usual before af.

I now have the next set of tests on thursday so wishing my life away waiting for the time to go the doctors and they tell me whats wrong.

lelly Id actually consider the test, it may save time in the long run.

Hi ladies can I join you? Smile

TTC#1
Age 38
Off the pill for 16 months (was on it for 18 years!)
Cycle 10 TTC seriously
Early MC in March (cycle 3 TTC)
Cycle 2 of using Fertility Freind and temping
Currently 5 dpo, AF due 13 October...

Not been on here since MC at Easter which I know is common and sad to hear some of you have experienced it too, (user sounds like you've had a similar experience at a similar time!) although it was only at 7 weeks, it really effected me emotionally. I have turned it into a positive and at least I know I can get pregnant, especially as I am getting on a bit! A girl at work is due at the same time I would have been so I get a daily reminder of what could have been!

Hopeful for this month as timed DTD well... We shall see! Trying not to go mad symptom spotting this month but hard not to, shame most symptoms are also signs that AF is on her way! Confused

xx

Hi ladies, another 10 month-er here! I've had 2 miscarriages, one at 6 weeks and the other at 16 weeks. The heartbreak is indescribable. Sad

So although I've spent most of the year pregnant, here I am back at the beginning.

Flowers for everyone, and hope the change in season brings a change in luck for us all!

Keepingfaith won't it be your luteal phase perhaps that was shorter last month rather? I guess just keep doing OPK's until you get a positive.

Keepingfaith love the idea about the change in seasons bring luck and new possibilities. I think we should all hold onto that thought!

TTC wise, I temp and use OPKs. We tried to DTD every day around ovulation this month - my DH was away on the day of ovulation (according to fertility friend although I got positive OPKs for the previous 2 days) but we'd had sex the previous 3 days (sometimes twice for luck!) and earlier in the month too. Sorry if tmi but I try to keep my bum elevated after DTD to keep things going in the right direction Blush I do feel like we're in with a good chance this month... Let's keep positive ladies! Smile

Margo definitely holding onto it!!! :)
Ahhh I see well this is my first month using opks and no sign yet! (Cd13).....
Wow you guys have been at it!!! Hehe but it's the best way though it sounds like you have covered ov! Best of luck to you both!!!
I admit I lift my bum up too!!! And lay down for ten mins
Does the temping really work????....
Should I be worried I haven't had positive opk yet???
I feel really positive too... :) xxxx

Report
Margo5 · 07/10/2016 07:59

Keepingfaith ha ha that you lift your bum up too - and the laying down, that's why I think it's better to DTD at bed time - every little helps! Blush
I ovulated on day 19 this month, day 18 last (my fist 2 months temping and using OPKs together) so it could happen any day now for you - good luck!
A friend of mine really swears by temping and she got her BFP last month after 3 months of doing it, she had been trying since January.
She also introduced me to the fertility friend app which is great as you can put in all your symptoms etc and it analyses it for you. It gives you a "cover line " at ovulation and if your temp stays above it from ovulation until and after the time when AF is due it is a sign that you are pregnant! Your temp goes up at ovulation because of progesterone being released which makes your temp rise.
All scientific and I didn't think I would be like this, but as I naturally like to plan and be in control charting really helps with that!
I am currently 7dpo and yesterday I had some odd twinges in my tummy - made me hopeful, although could have been trapped wind, ha ha!
Let's keep this positivity going!

Hi all can I join? Started TTC no 2 this time last year, then took a two month break due to work, then started again in Feb. So starting 9 th consecutive cycle and 11 th over all. I'm not officially out this cycle as no AF yet but BFN this morning at 12 DPO cd 27 and no symptoms. It's so depressing.
I'm another one who had a MC in Aug at 5 weeks.
On the whole I know I'm lucky, I've conceived twice ( DC1 in first month), and I suppose 9 months isn't that long, but today after my bfn I'm sad and frustrated.
My cycles are pretty regular, and I know that a couple of months we've not timed dTD correctly due to work or whatever, but there are lots of months we have definitely had ovulation covered. I used the opks you see on other threads last month and they gave a clear positive cd 14 and I had ovulation pains that evening. We dTD cd 13,14,16 but still no luck. I'd previously used boots opks but they were rubbish by comparison.
This month I've decide to try and loose some weight. My bmj is about 28 so not terrible, but I'm at least a stone heavier than when I conceived DC 1 so maybe that'll help. Think I'll join slimming world as I've never successfully lost weight outside a group.
Phew that's probably an epic post. Good luck to everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Smile

Keepingfaith any OPK positives over the last few days? My cycles average 34 days
Temping is good, a BBT thermometer is not expensive I got mine on Amazon for about £6. It does take a bit of getting used to as you have to take your temperature as soon as you wake having had at least 3 hours of decent sleep. It needs to be taken at the same time each day. Can be a bit of a pain but it is very useful for showing ovulation.

Welcome Wibble sorry about your bfn and to hear you are sad and frustrated. It's such an emotional rollercoaster this TTC lark! I have had several months when I know we DTD on the days on and before ovulation with no joy, you just have to keep going knowing you did the best you could! There's always next month... we will all get there! Slimming World is great - I lost 2 stone fairly easily a couple of years ago on it. Go for it, it's also good to have something else to focus on. Which OPKs do you use?

I am now at 10dpo and so tempted to test... going to hold off til thurs when fertility friend suggests but we shall see! No point having unnecessary disappointment- had enough of those!
My tummy is still a bit twingy and my boobs feel heavier... feeling positive still...

Positive vibes to all xx Wink
