Light period or implantation?

Hi all

I'm wondering what on earth is going on....my af is due today/tomorrow (CD29/30) and I got a positive ov test on CD17 and 18.

I am currently on holiday and as we are spending the week at the pool I decided for ease to use tampons this month. On Wednesday CD27 I had some brown blood mixed with creamy cm so popped a tampon in. Each day I am only seeing a bit of brown blood on the tip of the tampon - I've been wearing pads in the evening and overnight due to the low flow and they never have anything on them. Plus never anything when I wipe.

Could this be a bit of implantation?? Or I am I being super hopeful?

This month I've had sore bbs, more cm then usual and a strange full feeling all the time.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated

Tia Lx

I went through a stage of this being normal for me before af. Is this the first month you have used ovulation tests or do you normally get the positive tests at the same time?

Hi thanks for the reply! I've been using ovulation tests since March - but we've had no luck ttc yet. Worried about using the tampons when the flow is so light.... But it's my only option while on holiday. Was yours just af? X

Hi lottie I don't have much to add except that I am in same boat, so I'll join you for some handholding. I had cramps 8dpo, brown spotting 9dpo and this morning -10 dpo. It seems to have stopped. I thought it was AF early but now I'm hoping it's possibly ib. I did a Frer just now but my urine is dilute and its prob too early anyway. Period due on Tuesday, so will try and hold off testing until then.
I started ttc in April, chemical first cycle, skipped two cycles then bfn ever since.
I think your situation sounds hopeful and keeping fx for both of us. It's so hard isn't it! Can you Poas?

My Frer is negative btw i

Hi Thecontentedcat - unfortunately not as I am on holiday and there are no pharmacies close by and the hotel doesn't sell them. My af (if that is what it is) is still super light - tampons are coming out so dry.

We've been trying since March following a mc in February - it took 11 months ttc that time....I just wish it would happen!

Fingers crossed for you! Xx

Thanks lottieFlowers
Well enforced not Poas is probably a good thing! How long are you on holiday for? Are you somewhere lovely and hot? Grin
how old are you? I am 35 which makes me worry more and that probably does not help!

I'm in Majorca on an all inclusive place so a bit out of town! It's been lovely but today is it is chucking it down....prob karma for all the blue sky pics I've sent to people!

Defo enforced not poas for me! When are you going to test again?

I'm 31 so starting to get a bit worried plus everyone around me is either pregnant or has a new born and I just want to join the club (ttc number one).
Xx

Majorca is lovely! lucky you! 😎😎😎
I won't Poas again now until Tuesday, or not at all if AF turns up and I am getting rather crampy now so I think perhaps AF is jut early.
I am also ttc #1 dh and I left it all rather late, although not by choice.
We will keep trying until xmas and then see a fertility specialist I think if we don't have any luck by then.
I know what you mean about wanting to join the club, it is frustrating because you don't know if you've just been unlucky or if there is a problem Sad

My af is also due Tuesday. This is the first time I've not been tempted to start poas early. I don't feel any different to my normal cycle. We're on cycle 17 with a slim chance of actually getting pregnant naturally so I'm not so hopeful anymore.
In answer to your question Lottie, it was just af for me. I spotted for anywhere up to five days before full blown af arrived. The first month I didn't spot I was convinced I was pregnant. Turns out my current normal is not spotting and has been for the last three cycles. I can't keep up with the constant changing.

Did you make any changes to your diet delilah or anything else that could stop the spotting? Why are your chances slim? Have you had investigations? Sorry if that is too nosey! I am sending good vibes your way too. Flowers 17 months must feel like a lifetime...
When are you back from hols lottie?

I'm back Tuesday lunch time so not long to wait..... Sorry if tmi but we DTD this evening as I wondered if that might bring on af and hubby didn't mind - still nothing.

My af has been a bit random since the mc - regular in timing but always different. My doc reckons it will go back to normal after a successful pregnancy.....

Every month I hang every last hope on the fact it might happen. Keep me posted how you get on! X

No changes cat. I don't know if it was my body finally settling after the pill (16 months after coming off it!) Spotting is usually a progesterone issue but I've never had that tested. No doctor I have seen has considered it to be an issue.
We've had investigations and dp has antisperm antibodies so a large proportion of his swimmers can't penetrate an egg. We've been told our best chance is icsi but I have a son from a previous relationship and thanks to a postcode lottery we would have to pay for it. I have a low ovarian reserve as well so time isn't on our side. I'm only 31 as well.
I've found holidays messed up my ovulation too. Both times I've been on a big holiday I've ovulated four days late.

delilah that sounds very tough on you both. Are you saving for treatment? I can't understand why it is available on the nhs is some areas and not others, it does not seem fair.
lottie not too long until you can test now in that case. Like delilah I know travel can affect ovulation, I notice this most of all when I fly long haul, but I don't think it affects your luteal phase.
AF arrived last night for me, this has been a bit of a weird cycle. I will be paying more attention to healthy eating from here on in, I eat pretty heathy anyway but at least I feel I'm doing something then!

delilahbucket · 25/09/2016 11:24

We're saving cat but it will take a while. We could borrow but I'm self employed and entering maternity leave with debt wouldn't be ideal.
I know af is coming tomorrow or Tue now as I had pink spotting after dtd (sorry, tmi!) Then it was red/purple a bit later (not had that before), have had the pink when the dtd two days before though. I'm a bit pissed off with it all.

Report
Thecontentedcat · 25/09/2016 12:33

You sound very sensible delilah! I think it's understandable to be pissed off as well, it's all very frustrating.
I thought AF had started last night as I went to the loo and wiped and there was fresh red blood. However nothing more overnight and just a small bit of brown spotting again when I wipe, with lumpy white bits Confused cervix is low and open ( I think) so I'm sure AF will be here soon, I'd just rather she arrived today, when I can snuggle on the sofa with a hot water bottle, than Monday at work! No such thing as tmi on this board. Grin well no as far as I'm concerned.

I felt sick this morning and have had sore boobs, which is not normal a day before af due for me. My spotting has stopped now and I'm trying not to get my hopes up as been disappointed before. I am 12dpo and will probably test again tomorrow if no AF.
It is lovely being on a slightly smaller thread I get a bit lost on the buses. It would be lovely to have some company on the journey. Let us know your updates too Delilah and good luck for next cycle lottie. Fx this is a lucky thread Smile

Af has made her appearance early making my cycle 25 flipping days. Onto number 18 now. We're going to have to pay aren't we Sad

Report
Thecontentedcat · 27/09/2016 18:32

I know it sounds a bit drastic but would it be cheaper to move delilah?
I thought AF was making an appearance with a vengeance this morning, but one little spot and nothing more. I did test this morning bfn, so I expect this is simply a weird cycle. Wish AF would hurry up though, having the cramps with no period is frankly annoying! I don't want them to drag on.

Report
delilahbucket · 27/09/2016 18:45

The thought crossed my mind cat as over the border we would get free treatment but we only moved two years ago and have our dream home. It took ages to find one that was the right size as I work from home and need the space. We would pay more in stamp duty and solicitors fees that it would cost for icsi. Not to mention the stress.
Your situation really is being drawn out. I would love to be positive and say it all sounds great for you, but after last cycle when I was so convinced I was pregnant until I was still testing neg three days late, and then I just had to accept that I wasn't.
