Could I still be pregnant?

I am so confused! AF is usually very regular if not then only out by one day. I can usually tell the day my body is ovulating too. Today I am 8 days late and have done a pregnancy test this afternoon and it has come back negative. My OH and I haven't been actively trying for a baby but if it happens we will be happy. The first day of my last period was 1st Aug making ovulation day 15th Aug as I'm on a 29 day cycle. I am sure we were slightly outside of the 'fertility window' by one or two days so you would assume I'm not pregnant. However, I am never this late, ever! I have very sore and heavy boobs, had a bit of nausea and period like cramping. I have another test which I will do in a few days but I assumed if I was pregnant it would show up by now. Anyone been in the same predicament? Any advice? Xx

I wouldn't rule it out based on 1 hpt. Try one in the morning with your first wee

Didn't get a bfp until af was 2 weeks late with one of my dds! You aren't out til af shows!

Unless you are using OPKs or charting your temp you can't be sure that you ovulated on the 15, could have been a few days either side which means you could have been having sex in fertile window.
some people don't get positives until later as hormones levels just arenmf high enough. Wait s few days and then retest.
It could just be that your period is late due to stress?

Thanks all. Now 10 days late and 3 BFN. Feeling so teary today, it's the not knowing that is driving me made. Thanks for your advice X

Impossible to say really. Similar happened to me where I was convinced I was pregnant, feeling all sorts of hormonal and my very regular period was about a week late. I wasn't pregnant. Sometimes our bodies just do something a bit weird.

On the other hand, I have a friend who didn't get her pregnancy confirmed until she was about nine weeks as hpts kept being negative.
