A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you smile

Survived my first cycle very cool and calm, just one crazy 8dpo poas 😀 but that's only 2/3 days before AF for me so not THAT bad 😂

BusyNothings Wed 24-Aug-16 17:08:26

Ok so I had a quick catch up but my brain is fried! Quick catch up for me?

Thanks for the new thread Pyjamas. Hope you guys don't mind if I stick about?
Age: 26
BFP this morning, previously had a MC in July so no idea on when my due date would be! Really hoping this one sticks

MoonlightMojitos Wed 24-Aug-16 17:27:16

Oh I've just replied on the other thread lol.

Cd14 Cycle 2 (after mc which was cycle 2 after coming off the pill)

Good luck everyone and fx this is a new lucky thread!

Pyjamas81 Wed 24-Aug-16 18:25:16

Great to be reminded of where everyone is at! And great to see a couple of new faces as well smile And yes definitely stick around cinnamon - would love to know how you're getting on! Am so so happy to hear about your BFP!

I'm only at 4 or 5 dpo and Im surprised at how calm I am - this time last month I was already a googling head case. I'm still obviously POAS, but only because I got such an early positive result so am making sure. Who am I kidding, I just love POAS ha ha. But I'm not altering my life too much - I think that's what stressed me out so much last month.

lalaland1985 Wed 24-Aug-16 19:42:22

Oh I'd love to join you all!

My cycles are between 31-34 days so I'll test in a few days.

The only odd thing I've noticed is lots of watery discharge. Could mean nothing!

Hi all! cinnamon I was just about to respond on the other thread and saw the link to this one - huge congratulations!! Lovely news.

Recap on me:
Age: 30 very soon
Cycle 5
Cd9, expect ov around cd15.

CinnamonTwist Wed 24-Aug-16 21:26:56

Thanks everyone grin I am so happy about it, but also quite worried it might not stick again. Once I get past 8 weeks I will feel a bit better as I will then be further than I got last time, but still nerve racking. DH has agreed to no DTD for the first 12 weeks as we wonder if that triggered it last time, and I am under strict instructions not to do anything strenuous. Which I will struggle with as I like to think I'm stronger than I actually am (don't like being a feeble girl wink) and we are doing building works at the moment, completely ourselves for the time being, last weekend I was wheelbarrowing crushed concrete and bricks from the bit we demolished, and gave myself a bad back due to trying to empty too heavy loads - got told off then for not asking for help, and that was when it was 'just me/my health' so I'll get the biggest lecture ever if I don't make myself take it easy wink haha

Hello! Congratulations cinnamon! About me:

Af was supposed to show up yesterday but I have irregular cycles, sometimes as long as 39 days. Did a test yesterday am and got a BFN. Am very grumpy today so that could mean it's not far off!

Binkybunny13 Wed 24-Aug-16 23:28:01

Hello can I join please?

Age 31
Cycle 2

Feeling very frustrated atm, even though am super early on in the journey and realistically know this is probably going to take some time..think it's due to post wedding and honeymoon blues sadAnd as AF was cruelly a couple of days late this month I had thought I just might have gotten lucky quickly but no, sadly showed up about 30mins after POAS!

Wishing good luck to all!

Have spent so many years with my DH trying to prevent pregnancy that this month feels strange, very exciting but strange!

Cycle 1

Brightsmoke Thu 25-Aug-16 10:56:51

So, I guess like most of us, I'm impatient! Just did a digital test, and it's a BFP!!! I'm soooooo excited now, eeeeeek

CinnamonTwist Thu 25-Aug-16 11:03:06

Congratulations Brightsmoke! How many dpo are you?

I had some brown spotting last night, only a tiny bit, but still not what I needed to see, I am desperately trying to ignore it!

Difficultyear2015 Thu 25-Aug-16 11:12:32

Congratulations bright smoke!! ☺️

Difficultyear2015 Thu 25-Aug-16 11:13:20

My spotting seems to have stopped now but I'm noticing it comes back after DTD. So I've left message with my doctor to get back to me as I'm a bit worried about that

physicskate Thu 25-Aug-16 11:16:59

Congrats brightsmoke!

Is anyone taking supplements other than folic acid?

I swear I've turned myself into a science experiment (granted Biology, not Physics)...

Eva30 Thu 25-Aug-16 12:30:12

Congrats brightsmoke!
kate folic acid and also evening primrose oil and omega 3 to hopefully improve my EWCM this month. Stopped coffee and tea and now only having green tea and raspberry leaf tea until ov and then stop.
cinnamon how many dpo are you?

CinnamonTwist Thu 25-Aug-16 12:51:44

Eva I have absolutely no idea due to my MC. As I thought we avoided my FW. But evidence suggests otherwise so it must've been different to when I expected it to be. I've been told for now to date from my MC which would put me at around 5w. I'm planning on getting a CBD to get a clearer idea of timings.
