Hi there newbie here, sorry I don't know the acronyms.

A little bit of background, I have been trying to conceive for the last three months with my other half. I am taking pregnacare I am 38 and he is 41 and neither of us have children.

This is where my confusion lies, I was due to have my period on Sunday (21st) which I had but for some reason I had no cramps or anything. Usually I have really bad back and stomach pain, I had nothing. I had which I believe was my period very light spotting then following day Monday and part Tuesday it went medium heavy and then by the afternoon it stopped.

This has never happen to me before. I always have a regular cycle every 27 days and is usually fairly heavy and then lightens during day 4 to 5.

I mentioned it to the doctor as I had gone to visit for another purpose, she said it was nothing to be concerned about but i felt she was fobbing me off..

Has anyone experienced anything similar ? Do you think it's worthwhile taking a pregnancy test?

Sorry I have rambled on a bit would appreciate any advice x

Pregnacare contains vitamins (like B6) which can alter your cycle. If you want to put your mind at ease, feel free to do a test!

My cycle went a bit bonkers as soon as I started TTC, so I think some of it must be psychological!

It's not unusual for your cycle to change every now and then. Stress, diet and illness can all affect you. I wouldn't worry about it too much 😊
I would stop pregnacare though as it can lengthen cycles, delay ovulation and stop cm production! Seven seas are better I believe or you can just take folic acid xx

Hi

Thanks for your messages and advice.

I initially had purchased seven seas but other half was insisting that I should try pregnacare as it is "better" so I stuck with it. I was considering just simply coming off this and using my seven seas one that's just sat there.

I guess there shouldn't be an issue with that or do you recommend waiting a week before using and flushing the pregnacare out of my system or does it not matter?

Thanks xx

crazybutterfly I didn't have any issues with pregnacare at all. If you do want to change, there is no need to leave a gap- especially if you might be pregnant. I would take a test.

Hi, ok great thanks. I had various side effects where I felt I might be pregnant but wasn't guess it was due to taking pregnacare and my periods this time round have been different from usual so this is the only reason why I'd contemplate coming off pregnacare.

Never knew it would be so difficult to get pregnant!

Xx

It's affects some and not others but if you are worried I'd come off 😊 I was on it 7 months before I realised it was causing problems!
You can take seven seas straight away 😊 Ttc is not as easy as we are all told in school! I hope your journey isn't a long one xxx

It sounds like you could have missed ovulation completely with a period like that. I also had issues with pregnacare. I now take Wilko Pregnancy multivitamin. It contains everything I need. I also take coq10 but that's because I'm short on eggs so wanted to try improve the quality.
