Hi all. I have been taking the contraceptive pill (mercillon) for about 10 years and stopped taking it just under 2 months ago so that we (DH and I) could try for a baby. I had the usual bleed that you get in the 7 day break after stopping the pill. My next period would have been due last week, but we were on our honeymoon! So I was prescribed Northisterone by my doctor so that I could skip the period that was due, as I really didn't want it to happen during our honeymoon!
I stopped taking the Northisterone 3 days ago and have stayed my period today. My question is, does anyone know if this is an actual proper period? Or is it a breakthrough bleed caused by the Northisterone? And if it is an actual proper period does that mean that I'm now ovulating? It's all a bit confusing!
If anyone has any knowledge of this and could shed some light on it I'd be very grateful!
