HELP - im going mad

hi everyone, right i must be driving people mad but i reaaally need some advise. me and my partner have decided we want to try for our second child (weve never actually tried before our daughter was a lovely surprise). anyway, i have a fantastic app where i can keep track of my
periods. it predicts the next cycle etc. and every month its bang on so i know its reliable. anyway we waited for my 'fertile' week, and we had sex the 1st august which was 2 days before 'ovulation day' (4th august). anyway this last week from around monday 9th i started getting bellyache and headaches, i had sharp twinges/cramping pains come tuesday and wednesday with the odd feeling of 'uneasiness'; the kind of sensation if you stand up too quickly. so being impatient thinking these were all signs, and even though i knew it was only 6DPO and maybe too early to test i did anyway. i tested with a freedom test and there it was Negative. so thought no worries. then friday came and i was feeling sick, nearly being so close to being sick, had such bad tummy cramps etc, even my
pasta tasted funny! so this morning at 9DPO i tested again with freedom test and yet again said negative. ive still got the cramps/bellyache and the odd feeling dizzy. im not due on till 21st so a week tomorrow, and im so unsure now whether i need to go to doctors incase ive got something wrong with me or it is pregnancy just too early to detect yet? wanted to know if this has happened to anybody else? what was your outcomes? im so tempted to go and buy First Responce on monday and test tuesday which will be 4/5 days before period is due and 12DPO. thanks everyone! xx

The exact thing us happening to me now. Cramps, stabbing pains. Nausea and sleeping a lot. Had a faint positive yest but pretty sure it was an Evap as I broke the test open hmmm. I'm 10dpo tomorrow and all that started about 6dpo.

beautifulstorm - oh my gosh no way. and youve gotta be so sure havent you i hate evaps! well my sickness has stopped and only slight cramps every now and again but nothing like it was... im 10 DPO today and 6 days until shes due. so im still sitting here unsure of whats going on in my body. tested twice like i said but was negatives but i think it was too early to show on a test and they were standard ones no special clearblue or first responce where you can test early. my boobs are slightly tingly today i must admit xxxx

I think you need to calm down and stop studying your body for symptoms Confused

Yours sound like my "symptoms" every single month. We're on cycle 16 Confused. It is progesterone that causes it and only in a small number of cases is it pregnancy.
As pp said, you need to calm down. You could be pregnant, but you might not be, and realistically the odds are not in anyone's favour. The healthiest most fertile couple still only have a 25% chance of getting pregnant each cycle.
I also would not recommend trusting an app for your ovulation. Just because it predicts your periods does not mean it predicts when you ovulate. Everyone is different. You could have a short luteal phase and ovulate four days later than the app says you do, and if you're only dtd once then you're not likely to catch that egg. You could use opk tests and bbt temping to confirm when you ovulate. Far more accurate. I did do this but have decided to ditch them this month and spend less time thinking about it.

haveacupoftea - im not checking my body for 'symptoms' ive just noticed changes and im monitoring it because either way its not normal to be having the headaches/dizziness im feeling, and then everything else came after.

delilah - im more concerned because i dont know whats causing it and makes me worried incase ive got something i dont know about. just think its strange for a week now that ive been having problems on and off. ive spoken to my friends mom whos a nurse to see what she suggested in the end

It's progesterone that is released after ovulation and it's normal. Honestly, there's nothing like ttc to make you notice every little thing that you've never noticed before. There is nothing wrong with you at all but if you continue every cycle like this you will drive yourself insane x

I tested again 10dpo today and still negative. I honestly think we tune into our bodies more when ttc and notice things we wouldn't normally. Basically after ovulation the body prepares itself for pregnancy anyway with progesterone. Symptoms include fatigue, cramping and nausea and tender breasts. The only thing that's thrown me is really low into my pelvis feels full and tender. But maybe I've always had that too and just never noticed. Try focus on other things op, I know it's hard but either way u will know soon. It cam become an obsession, it did for me. I'm taking a step back now, AF is due between Wednesday and Friday for me. I'm refusing to test anymore till Sunday If need be. I must have wasted a fortune on tests argh

Delilah - its just frustrating isnt it. im not thinking about it now but i must say when the headsches and cramps kick in i do get worried more so incase i have sometbing wrong with me. and im too frightened to go to doctors because the first thing they'll ask is 'are you pregnant?' and what an i meant to say? im unsure. id then sound stupid so im avoiding it at the moment x

beautifulstorm - i was starting to drive myself mad but in the past day or two i havent been thinking about it. im 11 DPO now,12 tomorrow. they do say though it doesnt start to show on a stick until around 12/13 DPO and even then its faint. but im like you ive decided im not wasting my money because it could be wasteful, so im gonna wait till 21st when im supposed to come on and if nothing on 21st/22nd irl test the day or so afterwards x

charll I get headaches as my af sign every month and last month I cramped from 3dpo right up to af arrival. Some things are different every month and some are the same. It is frustrating because it is hard to not think about it. The chances of me getting pregnant naturally are actually less than 1% and yet I still wonder every single cycle. I don't tend to wonder until around 10dpo though these days. Then I'll test. Then I wonder again at 12dpo and test again. Then I know I'm not pregnant and wait for af arrival. With my ds I didn't know I was pregnant until I missed af. Not a single sign anything was different. I wasn't intending to get pregnant then though so I wasn't paying any attention! Since starting ttc I notice everything that I didn't before.

Is this your first month ttc?

Report
Charll · 17/08/2016 07:30

Delilah - no 3rd. but we dont plan to 'dtd' we just go with the flow as its more natural that way. you start getting obsessed with it and then it can have the opposite effect cant it so
