Period 7 days late but negative tests

Morning everyone
Posting this so early because I've been up most of the night worrying!
Long story short, I came off the depo injection last year (wasn't working for me- making me feel crazy!) and it took a long time for my periods to go back to normal. I track them on an app every month and since February they've been pretty much back to normal and on an almost 28 day cycle again- yay. Until this month...
My period is now 7 days late?
I took a pregnancy test a few days ago when period was 4 days late (clearblue digital) and it said not pregnant. However because it wasn't my first wee of the day, and it was in the evening after I'd drank rather a lot of water that day, I worried it wouldn't be accurate.
I've waited to see if my period would turn up and it's now day 7 with no sign so I've just taken another clearblue digital, first wee of the day, and it says not pregnant again.
What is going on? Can I relax and just put this down to a period blip or is there still a chance I could be pregnant and it's just now showing up yet? From reading the leaflet these tests seem to very sensitive, can be used up to 4 days before missed period, so I would assume it would definitely show up by now if I was?

It's really not a great time for me to be pregnant (very expensive holiday booked and fully paid for when any baby would be... About 3 weeks old?) so that is adding to my worry. We weren't trying and weren't planning to TTC for another couple of years. Accordingly we haven't had unprotected sex, we always use condoms, but as we all know those can fail!

Sorry this is so long, as you can probably tell I'm freaking out a little!

Thank you!

It's maddening, this happened to me last week- period was 8 days late.

I rang my gp as I was having some crazy stomach cramps, and wanted some reassurance as I have had a previous ectopic.

She said to be patient, and keep testing every 2 or 3 days. Either a bfp will show up, or your period will.

As sure as eggs are eggs, my period started, so it was just one of those blip things (a random 36d cycle in with my regular 28-29d)

It would seem all women have an anovulatory cycle each year which I didn't know until I googled it.

That's really interesting another, I didn't know that about the anovulatory cycle either (off to google I go)

I hope mines turns out the same as you!

Last month I had a 47 day cycle for no reason...drove me mad, I am actually ttc so it was a pain. All seems back on track this month.

You are very unlikely to be pregnant if you haven't had unprotected sex. Clearblue would show a +ve by now if you are 7 days late (as in ovulated 3 weeks ago)

What has probably happened is you ovulated later (completely normal - happens to most women at some point) and your period is not actually due yet (will come 10-16 days after ovulation) try and relax! My cycles are usually 28 days but I had a 36 day cycle last month which must have been due to delayed ovulation as I'm def not pregnant.

It seems very unlikely that you're pregnant so try not to worry! There are many reasons for delayed/absent ovulation, such as stress, weight loss or just "one of those things". If your period doesn't come next month, see your GP.

Thanks Hoggle obsessed and gardener - it's really reassuring to hear that other people have been through this and that it may just be delayed ovulation. I will try to keep calm!
