I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

BeedlesPineNeedles Sat 06-Aug-16 09:39:46

And on that note here's the start of my latest blanket!

imps glad you're still diffed!

We made a big step forward yesterday, we actually looked at some prams shock Unfortunately MrB managed to catch his hand in the handlebar adjuster on my favourite!

ControlGeek Sat 06-Aug-16 10:59:18

Thanks for the new thread Beedle, we really are a crafty bunch! I've just got two and a half repeats of the blanket I'm working on now, plus the border, and I can get onto something more interesting. I thought the pattern would be complicated enough to keep me interested, but it repeats horizontally and vertically and I'm bored!!! I need to knock up some small, quick things next I think.

On the downstairs tidying front, I've had mine waxed for years and I'm just carrying on with that. I'm at the point now where it's getting really difficult to see down there - shaving would most definitely not be safe!

Keep your countdown to mat leave is quite scary! It's coming round so soon. Are you all pretty much sorted for everything you need?

Bumpie to follow once I've had a chance to take one.

Imps9 Sat 06-Aug-16 11:01:31

Oooooh hello Lovely New Thread! Looking lovely. Will look even lovelier with some crocheted bunting, cushions and blankets dotted around the place.

Speaking of which, new blanket looks fab Beedles. Lovely design and colours. I did make another hat yesterday - this one's smaller than the others and looks more newborn size. Might make another one in the same size but in bright colours so he has a choice of which one to wear and can coordinate his outfit accordingly.

Lovely weekend here. We're making the most of it by doing household jobs. What fun.

ControlGeek Sat 06-Aug-16 19:34:20

Bumpie taken just shy of 20 weeks (I'm 21 weeks today but struggling to get technology to behave itself enough to take a selfie!)

Imps I so love that you are talking about B-B wanting to be co-ordinated grin

Imps9 Sat 06-Aug-16 20:23:26

Oh B-B is very much into fashion. He'll be the next Patrick off of Great British Sewing Bee, there is no doubt.

Your bump is lovely! Looks like it will be similar size to mine smile

keepitgoing Sun 07-Aug-16 20:33:37

geek you look wonderful!

My tummy button is thinking about popping out. And I think the baby is transverse. I know I know, there's lots of time

Do NOT move to arts and crafts, I'd be shunned!!

Pastamancer Mon 08-Aug-16 11:13:28

Just a quick little square trying out a new design before doing the proper one for Woolly Hugs

ControlGeek Mon 08-Aug-16 20:25:05

Pasta that's gorgeous! How long did it take you? It looks ever so complicated. It will look fab as part of a woolly hug.

Keep were you an outie last time? I think I've had too much surgery, I've a feeling mine is permanently stitched 'in'!

I've already had one comment about twins imps so you never know. I've always wanted a huge bump, I may come to regret that!

Has anybody else's norks exploded? I've just had to re-measure myself again and a conservative tally comes out at 32GG shock

cartoontrickster Mon 08-Aug-16 20:26:12

Lovely new thread ladies, keep don't worry I know nothing about crochet or knitting either!
Did I see that geekling is a girl?? Massive congratulations geek

Pastamancer Mon 08-Aug-16 20:32:36

Geek it isn't that complicated, the inside is 3 separate bits that you weave together before sewing together and then you just crochet a border around them. Also 32GG is pretty average so don't be so shocked.

ControlGeek Mon 08-Aug-16 20:39:28

trix!!! How are you doing, lovely?

pasta ahhh I was wondering how it got the woven-together look, that makes sense! I've always been a very petite 28E/30DD so to go to a 32GG is a bit of a shock, especially when it means my norks have written off two of the dresses I have bought that fit the rest of me perfectly grin

cartoontrickster Mon 08-Aug-16 20:59:49

Wow geek my boobs haven't really changed yet gone up a backup size but cup is the same.
I'm ok, 18 and a half weeks now, I have my 20week scan next week.

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 09-Aug-16 08:32:37

trix good to see you, good luck with the scan next week.

Have been in hospital overnight after a tiny bit of bleeding (I really thought they'd send me home saying it was nothing). Baby is fine but during the monitoring they noticed some minor contractions and after scanning me it seems my placenta is completely covering the exit so a CS is almost certain. No more bleeding but they're keeping me in at least until the evening and maybe overnight again. And then I'll be signed off sick, though I'm not sure how long for.

On the plus side I have a single room with toilet and a fold down bed for MrB, and free WiFi! And once I get home I'll have plenty of time for crocheting, I didn't think I'd be here this long so didn't get mrb to bring much this morning.

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 08:59:27

TRIIIIIIIIIIX <runs over and gives Trix a massive snog>. We've missed you! So pleased you're back. 18 weeks already! Hurrah! When is your 20 week scan booked for? Do you crochet? If not, do you intend to learn?

Ooooh Beedles a bit scary re: the bleeding. Glad all is well with Babybeedles. V good that they know the cause and you can plan accordingly. Was your placenta always low, or has it shifted (can it even do that? I don't know much about placentas). Great news about crochet time, but how you do feel re: the CS?

Geek I get the twins comment a lot. Yesterday one of the corporate partners asked me how much longer I'll be about for - I told him just over two months, to which he responded. "Oh. Wow. If you don't mind me saying so, you're going to be fucking huge". That having been said, I've still only put on 5.4kg confused

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 09-Aug-16 09:07:32

Slightly worried as they've said they will do it as early as 36 weeks if I get 2 more lots of bleeding shock But if it's at 38/39 weeks I feel OK about it. MrB will have 2 weeks off then my parents will come for a week or so, and mrb works fairly close to home so won't be far away. Though he does start a new job in Oct so week 36 could be very bad timing (his new boss knows the baby is due in Nov though!

keepitgoing Tue 09-Aug-16 09:22:16

Oh beedle sounds scary, but glad they are looking after you, and extended sick leave won't be too bad... Hopefully you won't need a cs but whatever gets the baby here sagely. 36 weeks would be fine I'm sure, though I understand wanting to wait as long as poss. Was it over the cervix at 20 weeks too? I thought they only tended to move up and away after that

Hi trix wherever have you been. Will be brooking for your sxan , will you find out the sex?

geek I think it only popped right at the end, like 36/37 weeks last time. Could be how the baby's lying, or saggy muscles I guess

People love to comment on bumps, also my theory is that people only really see bumps up to 8ish months and forget how huge you get at the end so they're always surprised. Anyway, who cares!! imps my sil has put on only 0.5kg but she's been quite vomity, and also highish bmi to start

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 09:40:55

Hold on a minute - I've actually lost weight over the past month. I'd put on 6kg this time last month. Is that something to be worried about do you think?

Beedles 36 weeks will be absolutely fine for Babybeedles - I know a few folk who've had CS/natural births at that stage (you too Keep if I remember correctly?). But yes, I get that you'd want to keep Bb in as long as possible. I guess at least you have plenty of time to become adjusted to the idea and ask questions/prepare yourself. Gosh, to think that the births are just around the corner.

Back to tits though - mine have hardly grown at all! It's most unfair. For once in my life I was hoping to have a glorious rack but alas tis not to be. You can send some of yours to me if you like Geek.

Pastamancer Tue 09-Aug-16 10:04:24

Imps I lose weight when pregnant and the mw never batted an eyelid. When DD2 was born I weighed 1st less than my pre pregnancy weight

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 09-Aug-16 10:16:01

I'm sure the baby will be fine if it comes at 36 weeks, it's more the idea of fuck that's only 9 weeks away we're not ready yet! Though we should get good use out of the teeny newborn clothes I bought! And I'm sure most of the things we need straight away can be ordered online!

They weren't sure exactly where it was at 20 weeks, babybeedle's head was in the way! I was due for another scan in 4 weeks to check, but the Dr we saw last night doesn't think it will move enough now.

My boobs have gone up 3 cup sizes!

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 10:21:33

9 weeks is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages away Beedles! You've got looaaaaaaaads of time to prepare.

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 10:22:06

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 09-Aug-16 10:27:10

Is Barry Baxter due in about 9 or 10 weeks by any chance imps? grin

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 10:33:30

11 weeks which is basically 3 months which is basically a quarter of a year which is bugger loads of time. One really shouldn't need more than a week to get everything done.

Imps9 Tue 09-Aug-16 13:05:22

What's the latest Beedles? Do you know if you're staying in for another night yet? Hopefully the bleeding and contractions have stopped.
