So roughly for the last 9 months my partner and I have been trying to conceive so I have been keeping a eagle eye on any changes in my cycle (my last few cycles have been 26-28 days) I got my period on the 1st of June, 15 days later (8 days after my period ended) I noticed I had some brown tinged discharge when I wiped so I decided to use a tampon as I didn't have the time to keep going to the loo and wiping! A few hours later I checked the tampon and noticed it was quite dry but at the very tip the were a tiny streak of red blood. within 2 days the discharge had cleared up and there were no more 'streaks' of red blood, so I just put it down to my body's way of clearing out any old blood from my previous period. The day I was expecting my period to come, I noticed I started with thrush and my nipples became quite tender plus I had a loss of appetite. Not something I get often at all, I'm now on day 35 of my cycle... DAY 35 
and there's still no sign of AF although last night I did experience some period like pains but nowhere near as painful as I usually get. Earlier this afternoon I saw a very, very light brown tinge to my discharge when I wiped. I took a clear blue digital test 2 days ago but it came back negative, I'm wondering if I took the test too early... Feel like I'm slowly losing my mind! 
Has anyone has been in a similar situation and later found out they were/are pregnant?

CB digitals are really not very sensitive. Try a Superdrug test or FRER and do it first thing in the morning.
Assuming you OV 10-12 days before the end of your cycle, and it takes a week for implantation, it probably wasn't an implantation bleed but there's no guarantee of that. It's possible you OVd early (?) or just had a weird cycle this month.
I feel your pain though. I'm regular as clockwork and AF this month was 7 days late! I wasn't pregnant though 
Just as a final point - are you up to date with your smear test? If you're not PG then it's worth keeping an eye on any irregular bleeding!
