Hi ladies. I'm wondering if any of you have any exciting ways planned for how and when you tell hubby or family and friends that you're pregnant or any stories of how you have told them?

I think it might be too excited and just blurt it out! DH said he wants to always know when I'm testing and doesn't want me 'plotting to tell him in some cute way' typical man!
I had thought I could maybe just casually ask my mum to come look at prams/some other baby related product with me!
Would def want to wait as long as possible before telling people though to make sure everything was okay!

I saw a video I thought was really cute where a couple gave her Dad a teddy bear with their voices recorded saying happy birthday Grandpa - could seize any 'occasion' to do something similar

DS was the first grandchild for DHs parents so during dinner with them a few days after our 12 week scan:

DH: I've got something important to ask you
PIL: yes.
DH: do you prefer granny and grampa or nana and grandad?
MIL: well, my grandma was granny so I'm not sure that works, but I'm not keen on.....

Was priceless. FIL got it immediately.

Hello!
This is a nice thread Smile
I second all the above ideas - especially Juno's (so lovely!). I'm sure there are a million ways to share the happy news, and I would say it's very personal to you, and the person you're telling... I haven't got a bfp yet but I want to try REALLY hard to tell only dh until I have my scan pics to show people and know that everything is going to plan. But everyone is different so you just do what's right for you Smile. I am also aware I am terrible at hiding happy secrets so doubt I'd make it that far without confiding in a few v close friends and my mum too!!
Here are a few ideas
You can get personalised magic mugs (black or white, until heat shows the design u picked appearing slowly!) and just hand them a cup of hot tea/coffee and see how quickly they notice the message on them, like 'top uncle' or 'fave aunty' or 'daddy to be!' or similar...
I bought my husband a babygro from his favourite football teams' online shop and it's a red and white babygro with the football team emblem in the top right and then it says 'my daddy says blue's a naughty word!' on it... Tiny babygro and I know he'll love it!
You can also buy tshirts online with different designs which you could wrap up and Watch him open! www.google.co.uk/search?q=father+to+be+shirt&client=ms-android-sonymobile&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjc6r2089_NAhViLMAKHRExC4YQ_AUIBygB&biw=360&bih=512
A popular way is to place a bun in the oven and get them to find it... Then get them to put 2 and 2 together and watch the realisation on their face - good for getting on camera/video!
Or you gather your friends for a photo then the person taking the photo, who would normally at that point shout 'say cheese!' instead shouts 'say.... Stephanie's pregnant!' (N.B. you need to change 'stephanie' to your own name or this won't work Grin) then either people repeat it then realise, or it takes them a second - the whole while it's being filmed instead of on camera mode so you get their reactions to the good news!
I have thought about this A LOT while waiting for my Bfp Blush it's rather embarrassing! Some methods may seem OTT or cheesy to some, but I think it depends on who you're telling. I mean I wouldn't film telling my friend the news if she was also trying for a baby and hadn't had any luck yet - you need to think carefully about filming people in case you don't get the reaction you wanted!! My dh and I have just been waiting a while so I like the idea of finding a novel way of telling close friends/family.
Whoa that was a huuuge message! I rather like this thread if you hadn't noticed Smile
