Very early miscarriage?

So I got my period today, over a week later than I expected. I've recently come off depo injections and have had quite a few extra periods (like every two weeks) but never late. Pre-depo, I was always very regular.

I'm fairly certain I ovulated last month, although I didn't get any positive results on the cheap eBay opks.

I took a pregnancy test at around 14 dpo and again a few days later. Again, cheap eBay ones. Both negative.

As such, it seems unlikely I was pregnant. I'm on querying it as the period is SO heavy. I'm leaking through high absorbency tampons, which has never happened before.

Could this simply be because I was a week late and therefore have additional womb lining? Or could it possibly be a very early miscarriage?

Sorry if I sound like a crazy lady, imagining potential pregnancies. My cycle is so confusing and I'm just trying to make sense of it.

It def could be that, my friend didn't get a BFP until a week after AF due and then unfortunately miscarried. Late implantation is associated with high miscarriage rates.

Thanks. I'm thinking it's probably more like to just be a heavy period, given that I didn't have a positive pregnancy test, but who knows.

IF it was a very early miscarriage, would it have any impact on my next cycle? Of can we just continue trying and using OPK as normal?

Also, I seem to have a ton of really stretchy clear mucas, I'd say it was egg white mucas but during a period???! I'm totally confused. Anyone else experienced this?

When I had a very early miscarriage it was actually quite light, but went on for three weeks/a month. Nice!

But we're all different and these things happen differently so it could be, or it could be that the egg fertilised but didn't implant so that's why your having odd bleeding.

As regards your next cycle, it can certainly make it unusual. I fell pg on the next cycle though so don't think all is lost for months! (Which is what I did - I assumed my body hadn't got back to normal post mc but actually I was pg again!)

Ok so having googled this, I think I've finally found the answer.

I think I'm still screwed up from the depo and haven't ovulated at all :( I had a mini period/possible ovulation bleeding last month. I was convinced I was ovulating because of the CM, even though the OPK said no.

Well apparently sky high oestrogen levels are a common feature when coming off of depo. It's this which causes the stretchy CM and heavy bleeding. I think I'm just getting loads of frequent periods because my oestrogen levels are too high.

Apparently this is common in pre-menopausal woman!!! I'm only 31. This is freaking the life out of me. What if this never sorts itself out? I'm really stressed and upset. I wish I'd never taken this stupid injection

I had a mc at 6 weeks earlier this year, didn't find out til 12 week scan then not very heavy but prolonged bleeding. Things seem to take ages to settle down since then. Finally had what I thought was a period three weeks ago, then light spotting over last few days followed by a one off really heavy bleed. Had the mucus thing too. Totally confused about what is going on with my cycle so planning to give it a few months to settle down before trying again when hopefully we will have more luck.

Hope things settle down for you soon OP and good luck!
