Did anyone NOT dtd on the day of ovulation and still get pregnant - I fear I am going to miss mine. Also did you dtd more than once on the day of ovulation?

We dtd about 5 days and 3 days before ovulation. Just once on each of those days. Sperm needs to be present before ovulation really

By the time you actually ovulate it's unlikely you'll catch the egg. Far more important to dtd before you ovulate.

I dtd on CD11 and ovulated on CD14. Only did it once the month we conceived.

I conceived via ivf so didn't DTD for about 3 weeks before conception! But I remember that stats are higher for conceiving the day before ovulation, the number of conceptions drop slightly on day of ovulation and a very few people conceive the day after ovulation. Most people conceived by dtd regularly up to ovulation. You need the siren in place before the egg drops. Sperm can live for much longer than the egg.

Sperm start dying off in the tubes if you don't dtd every 4-6 days. So keep them fresh in your early cycle.

Equally if your partner is older or has crap sperm and if you dtd too often (everyday or more) you don't get decent mature sperm.

If you are both young energetic and healthy dtd as often as you can up to and including ovulation (don't limit yourself to the day of ovulation). If not go for every other day up to and a few days after ovulation.

We only dtd twice the month I conceived; 7 and 5 days before ovulation. It was the month we took a break from actively ttc, as DH was away for work during my window. He's very proud of his little swimmers

We did 2 days before and the day after. I read the chance of conceiving by dtd on the day of ovulation is actually lower than doing it the day before- apparently the best way to conceive is to dtd every other day all through your cycle because you can't be sure when you will actually ovulate.

The day of ovulation is NOT statistically the best day to conceive as it is likely too late. The two days before ovulation are statistically the best days for dtd

I'm not entirely sure when I ovulated...I did use Opks, but DH and I just dtd'd every day where possible since a faint line started to appear. I know there's a practice of waiting for that strong positive on opk but dtd every day/other worked for us with both Ds1 and this pregnancy. Why reduce your chances by waiting?! Good luck!

We did it 3 days before, the day before and the morning after the day I got a positive OPK. I thought I was out as we'd DTD far more frequently in the months previous to this. Obviously less is more in our case!

When I was trying last year, I (stupidly) waited for ov pains. Then I fell pregnant this year when we dtd the day before the ov pains. Bit of a surprise as we had given up trying!

Day before and day of ovulation with this pregnancy. SMEP plan with the previous pregnancy and daily dtd for the whole month with dd. (My first. We were younger then. )

Thanks everyone super helpful!we did the dtd 5 days before and then yesterday nothing. Yesterday I have mega Swollen and painful boobs and EWCM and then we dtd this morning so hopefully in with a chance xx

We DTD 3 days after ovulation... DP had been away for 2 weeks so we had resigned ourself to it not being our month. I had a cheeky bottle glass of wine, and we had a bit of a drunken fumble resulting in DD! :)

Yes, 3 and 2 days before here, that's it. It was the same last time around. We missed O and I remember being so cross with DH, but it turned out that was our lucky cycle.
