Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Morning, I joined this thread right at the start but then we decided to delay TTC for a bit so I stopped posting. We are now going to start after next AF so probably end of this month, beginning of next month ish! Have there been any BFPs yet? Does anyone fancy sharing stats so we all know who each other is?!

Report
twocatsandatoddler · 07/04/2016 08:18

Ooh, can I join please? We've decided to TTC #2 next month.

Please help! I've been doing the whole 'relaxed trying' (like that exists?!) for a month, after 6 months of being totally anal about tracking CM and ovulation on apps. I've done a text this morning (AF due today) and I'm trying not to get excited but I think there's something really faint there? I'm so sorry if this isn't the right thread but I have no idea who to ask? Xxx

twocats how old is your toddler?

MrsM I've never done a blue dye test but if there is supposed to be a cross in the second window then I think I can see a really faint line! Maybe get a FRER for a thicker line?!

HighHopes16 · 07/04/2016 09:14

I can definitely see a faint plus sign MrsMarsch !!
I would take another test in a couple of days and hopefully it will be clearer. Smile
My ovia app says 1 day to pregnancy test so I'm going to POAS in the morning. eek!

Marking my place. Was planning to ttc this month but it may be next month now. I'm impatient but DH isn't!
I'm 33 and have a 16 month old dd. I also have 2 cats and a toddler Twocats! Still breastfeeding so very irregular cycles and no idea if/when I'm ovulating but want to give it a go.
Congratulations Mrs Marsch! That looks like a line to me Smile

Hi all I'm jumping on board. Had a delayed miscarriage in February (I know there's a TTC after miscarriage thread) but me and DH both agreed 'let's just see what happens' so this thread seems more for me

Age - 31
TTC - Baby#3
Cycle #1 (have had a proper af since d&c so calling this cycle #1)

Sorry about the miscarriage ecky. I was so so bloated before I got my BFP with DS HighHopes so fingers crossed for you!

My stats:
Age: 28
TTC: DC2
Waiting to try after next AF which is due in about 2 weeks or so!

Let's hope this is a lucky thread!

sunny, I think there have been a couple. I joined in just about a month ago and devgal got her bfp a couple weeks ago now. Not sure about earlier on in the thread, but it was going for a few months, I would be surprised if there weren't any others!

Oooh, stats!

Mine are
Age: 31 (DH 36)
TTC no 2 (DD June 2014)
Cycle -1

I'm just tracking cycles right now even though we decided to no prevent a couple months ago and see what happens. I then had panicked second thoughts and decided that we should wait until May as we are travelling to Canada for a couple weeks in October and I would NOT want to be any more than 24 weeks pregnant if we were lucky enough to fall quickly.

So, I'm temping as it suits me and after next AF we will be trying, which should be due 30 April... But no OPK nonsense. I bought some, but then thought the better of it. POAS drives me bonkers.

Thanks everyone- I will report back in the morning after I have POAS !
Hopefully its early enough to test as I am due AF today? But my cycles have been late the last few months since coming off the pill.

Can I join in, DH is very relaxed about the whole thing so I may as well join him. Although he has been keen to 'stop preventing' for quite a while now, I came off the pill at the end of January and since then I've become a bit obsessive. This relaxed thread is the way forward hopefully!

MrsM I can definitely see a line, positive vibes your way when testing again.

HighHopes if AF is due today you should be fine to test tomorrow. Personally I will always use FRERs because then you know if it's a negative on that and your period is late then you're likely not pregnant. I don't like POAS so I won't do it unless I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant again!

Wispa I temped when I came off the pill to try for DS because my cycles were all over the place. It really helped me. I didn't ever get on with OPKs though!

What vitamins is everyone taking? I started on a multiple vitamin a few cycles ago but I was really late and that's the only thing I could think of that might have messed me up so just been taking folic acid. Last time I took seven seas trying for a baby.

Report
HighHopes16 · 07/04/2016 14:11

Thanks Sunny Are FRERs really expensive? The pg tests I bought were just cheapo sainsburys ones cause I thought I might need need a few when TTC.

I'm just taking folic acid 400mg (Aldi) and have been for the last few months.

Report
wispaxmas · 07/04/2016 15:09

I'm considering taking more vitamins.. Currently taking high dose folic acid and Royal jelly. The latter was bought on a whim when in Holland and Barrett as I was told that if you take it in the 90 days before ovulation it increases egg quality. Or something. No idea why or how, but it doesn't have any side effects or anything and isn't expensive, so I thought f it, why not?

I probably need to take a B complex due to thyroid, but still have to have tests done, including a b12 test, so I don't want to start taking it before I get the test done.

The cheap ones are fine HighHopes, I used to find pound shop ones excellent! I think I got my BFP with DS on an Asda one. I wasn't late.

Also if it's early, this suggests it's more accurate to test in the afternoon/evening especially if you can hold onto your wee for 3-4 hours before going. www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/pregnancy-tests-urine-sample.php

I started taking the aldi folic acid tablets Monday. X

I got a two pack of FRERs from Asda on offer for £6 so if you're going to do them every month then yeah it's an expensive habit! But the cheap ones are fine as well. I did a tesco one a few days after a got a big thick line. I also did an IC and that was a bit fainter but still seeable!

I didn't know about better to do in the afternoon. Interesting though. Last time I did one at 4am because I couldn't hold my wee any longer haha!

Laughed about the Royal Jelly! Last time I was on grapefruit juice before ovulation and pineapple juice after, again I just thought F it. No idea if it helped or not!
