How long until your cycles were regular after childbirth?

Had my first af since ds was born. He is 8months. It was pretty horrendous, very heavy and painful. Just wondering if my cycles are likely to be the same as before (24 days) and if they will be regular or unpredictable.

I know everyone is different but would like to hear others experiences.

Ds is ebf but has started food.

Periods came back when I reduced breastfeeding at 9 months. Cycles were fairly regular right away but slightly shorter which might just be getting older. I use the Clue app to track it, which is brilliant.

They didn't until I went back on the pill (4 months later). Then when ttc#2 i came off the pill after a year on and was still all over the place! DC#2 conception (currently 17 weeks preg) involved a lot of guess work!
I was like clockwork prior to DS birth.

FWIW I only breastfed for a week. But to be honest I'd have thought that would have meant I'd be back to regular quicker because the hormones were out of my system quicker? Who knows

DS is 18 months. I bf (stopped 3 months ago) and got my first period when he was 12 months. I've got them every 5 or 6 weeks since, so not regular at all. They're still heavy, but the first 3 in particular were exceptionally heavy.

Poor you having a 24 day cycle OP!
