Want to POAS but don't want a BFN!

So DP and I have been TTC child number 2 for a little over a year now. My cycles have been quite variable since having my implant taken out; my shortest being 30 days and my longest being 41, but generally they are around 34 days.

I've POAS a few times over the last year it it's always ended in disappointment.

I'm currently on cycle day 42 and I've been having a few symptoms but I don't know if I'm just being over sensitive and wishful thinking. I want to POAS but I don't want to be disappointed again!

Nerve-wracking stuff! Just try to remember that the potential BFN isn't what makes you not pregnant. It's just relaying information.

Any time I take a test I approach it with "this is going to be negative, just get it done so you can think about next month"

Easier said than done, I know

Flowers for you Thanks

Oh, and I don't know if you drink, but I sometimes used to pour myself a drink, get the BFN, then drink the yummy wine. Eat all the soft cheese too! Wine

Thanks Flossies it makes total sense to think of it that way and I'm going to try my hardest to approach it with that mindset!

I think I might just use the idea of pouring myself a drink too! Grin

You'd think I'd learn not to get my hopes up, but it's really hard not to!

Ooh, you've held out so long! Do you know when you ovulated this cycle? As that is a good indicator of what day you were due if your cycle length varies. I am absolutely awful for testing obsessively. I keep promising myself each month will be different and I will wait until AF is due and then I start testing on cheapies at 8 dpo Blush. I'm 6-8 dpo today and it will be really hard not to test tomorrow. I'm going to try harder this month to wait until 12dpo at least. When you get to AF due day though I think I'd be more nervous with every single toilet visit that I was about to see AF that is rather do the rest. Keep us posted.

I like the wine idea too. Possibly not the best idea with FMU though but tempting... Grin

Unfortunately I have no idea when I ovulated. I haven't been testing because before DS, and subsequent contraception, I was very regular. I just assumed my cycles would settle back down. If I get a BFN this month then I might get some OPK's!

I was going to just go for it tonight but I think I'll wait and use FMU. I only have one test in my arsenal and I'd like to make it count! Grin

No! I just POAS but it didn't work! Shock The sample didn't even move through the windows. Not sure why... That's the first test I've ever had not work! Guess I'll be off to the pharmacy after the school run!

BFN! Sad

Still no AF though. I expect I'm just having a longer cycle. We'll see what the next few days have to bring.

Want to POAS but don't want a BFN!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I don't want to unnecessarily get your hopes up but can I see a faint line right bang in the centre between the two circles? Or is that in wrong place to be a positive?

i dont want to add to getting your hopes up but i feel like if i move my head side to side something catches my eye?!

when i had a feint feint positive i held it up to the bright kitchen light and took a pic, might be worth removing the strip from the plastic too.

I can see a very very faint line OP, unless it's my eyes?!

What miu was the test?

A faint line you say? I might go and take a second look! Just to be on the safe side! I did buy a 2 pack so if no AF in the next couple of days I'll do another one. They are 25miu. I think the line is supposed to be closer to the 'T'.

slinks off to re check test

U need more sensitive tests. If my memory serves me rght asda are 15miu. Hurry am excited for you haha!

Report
LaraCroftInDisguise · 16/03/2016 12:37

After studying the test, it's possible there is a faint line but it could just wishful thinking!

I don't have an Asda near me! But I've just ordered some 10miu ones from Amazon Grin

I am wondering now though, since the test I did this morning with FMU was faulty, I used SMU with this one and maybe it wasn't concentrated enough.

I think I'll just treat it as negative for now so as not to set myself up for a fall and do the second test tomorrow with FMU provided AF hasn't reared her ugly head!

I enlarged the pic and I think I see a line too. I wasn't going to say in case I'm wrong, but so many other posters had said too.
