Hiya, I came off the pill at the beginning of Feb. Had my withdrawn bleed and then just had my first proper period after a 26 day cycle. It was a weird bleed, really heavy for two days and then has just stopped suddenly, with no real cramps or anything but no idea if that was normal for me!

I did OPK's and I seemed to ovulate on time along with some EWCM so I'm hoping all is in order?! It's nerve racking though wondering how much it's messed you up!

Mooseville - you are so lucky for it to come back in good time! Hope they keep up regular for you! I don't trust my CM! I've had EWCM a couple of times since coming off the pill, also watery CM. My body is so up and down!

CatMum87 - it's very hard to keep calm and not freak out! I've hurd horror stories of the first AF so it's all worrying. But I just want it to know my body is on the right track! I hope ours come soon! Have you had any withdrawal symptoms?

Hi, I popped my last pill on January 21st! Was on it for over eight years Shock had normal withdrawal bleed, then luckily AF arrived after CD33. Exactly like you Mooseville- heavy for two days with cramps and then gone!

Currently on CD10, no withdrawal symptoms now but last month I had them all! So hard to distinguish between those and PG symptoms. Barely DTD last month, circumstances did not allow, didn't stop me doing about 8 tests thoughBlush! So hoping to give it a proper stab this month.

Just reading that you had no cramps Mooseville, I did which was odd for me! I'd try not panic yet as it's still early days for AF returning. When I came off I did a lot of reading and in general people were saying it could take up to 6 months for AF to return. Lots of luck that she shows up soon!

I took my last pill on January 13th, had my withdrawal bleed like normal and then my first 'normal' period starting on CD30. Been DTD regularly before, during and after fertile window (according to Ovia!). Am now on CD21 and had brown spotting yesterday, trying not to get my hopes up that it's implantation! AF not due til end of next week though. reminds self it's too early to test

I was on the pill for around 11 years and not really had any withdrawal symptoms since stopping. There were a few days in January when I had some aching which really felt like AF was going to show but nothing came of it. I also has what i can only describe as a constant dull ache for a while but since then nothing!! Tweetypie95, how about you?! Also been reading lots online and trying not to let it panick me!

Its good to hear that others are getting their AF so soon after stopping, positive thoughts! X

I came off the pill after 11 years and have'nt really experienced any withdrawal symptoms. In January there was a day when I was quite crampey and thought AF was definitely on its way, but nothing came of it. There have been a few weeks where I've had what I can only describe as a dull ache but apart from that nothing! Tweetypie95- how long were you on the pill for? I keep reading all sorts about the pill messing periods up and its hard not to freak out!

Looks like others are getting AF which is a good sign, positive thoughts to all!! X

Hello,

I'm new to mumsnet (my first post)!

I took my last pill (microgynon 30) on 8/1/16 having been on it for around 11 years. I had a withdrawal bleed a couple of days later and then have had two periods at 27 days and 29 days.

I'm now on cd5 and have got everything crossed that this is our month!

Well CatMum87 for the first month I had lots of cramps and aches in my stomach. I also had regular nausea a few headaches and mood swings. I was almost certain I had ovulated 2 weeks after stopping the pill. With a change in CM and a pain in my left ovary (something i have never experienced before) but I obviously didn't. Tested at what i thought was 15dpo and BFN!!

So many changed to my body since coming off the pill! Everyday is different but 2 months later it has defo calmed down from the constant cramping. Just battling a cold atm!

I've been on birth control for 9 years (since i was 16) started out on the Pill, Switched to injection Depo for 2 years and then been back on the pill 2 years, which i have just stopped. Because I only really had my period for a year before i went on birth control i have no idea what my cycle was like before!

I've been reading too much online, i think i have exhausted all the questions i had though.

It's encouraging seeing people starting to get their cycles back!! Smile

Hey, I'm new to mums net and ttc no3 :)

I took my last pill on the 25th Jan and had my withdrawal bleed on the 30th November last around 4/5 days.
I've not had a period since this but we didn't wait for the first af to arrive before trying.. oops! So I'm currently on cd 40 and eagerly waiting for anything to happen atm!

Crazy how we all react differently to it. I think I was a little naive about stopping the pill and just assumed things would happen quickly! But i guess my body has been in hibernation for a while so might need a bit of time to wake up!

I've also taken a few tests which were negative, its always a little disheartening and like stuck in limbo!

Ive browsed far too many sites, and keep questioning everything lol, am i exercising too much, the right weight etc etc!

Just have to keep waiting and hope something shows! Has anyone been taking any supplements etc out of interest?!

I didn't realise how wrapped in all of this I would become! Really only decided to stop taking the pill at the end of January and it seems to have taken over my thoughts completely! Taking folic acid now but nothing else.
I was 17 when i started taking the pill so had no idea what to expect after 8 years. So far so good.. Positive vibes to all!

Ttc #1.. I can't believe how much I used to freak when I was late with a pill, when there really only is such a small window of opportunity for conception each month.

Hi everyone, can I join this thread? I'm in exactly the same boat, I took my last pill on 13th Feb, had my withdrawal bleed on 17 for my usual 4 days & am now just waiting to see when I get my AF. I'm using ovia & it reckons it should start on 16th March so I'm intrigued to see if it does. I've been on the pill for probably over 17 years so can't remember what my cycles were like before that.

I've come off the pill a few months before we're planning to ttc to give my cycles a little time to settle as I'd heard it could take a while. I also want to lose some weight & get started on a good multivitamin to make sure baby & I are as healthy as possible. I'm a planner so I really do think things to death!! I'm so keen to get started that it's kind of taken over my thoughts 24/7 now!

Hi everyone, thought I'd join in with a similar experience. Ttc #1 after 13 years on the pill. I had no idea what would happen and how my body would react! My withdrawal bleed started on 12 Feb, I'm pretty sure I ovulated on cd13 (can't mistake that pain for anything else) but af arrived cd25.

In the meantime I have of course convinced myself that we managed to get pregnant, good timing, ecwm present, sore bobs, cramps and all sorts of other symptoms afterwards. I'm now thinking, Ok, I've allowed myself one cycle of craziness and symptom spotting, I also may have done a few pregnancy tests, will chill out now. I'm just happy that things are more or less back to normal.

One thing I would add for those using Ovia - be careful that you don't miss your fertile window. I used to be very regular so set my cycle length at 28 days. Even though my cycle (granted the first one off the pill) was 25 days long, the app still uses 28 day cycles to map out your upcoming ovulation date. So, if my next cycle was 28 days long, I should ovulate on the 19th of march, on another 25 day cycle it would be the 16th.
The fertile window is very different for those two dates!

Aaanyway, back to having a chilled out month of relaxed ttc...

Hey tweetypie, I have as well. Though I'm positive of the date I ovulated as I had a dull pain on my left side, had an increase & then decrease in temp & had a very positive opk so it'll be interesting to see if the same happens next month. It really makes you wonder what the pill must do to your body!

Hey everyone, well I'm on cd 45 and my af arrived a couple of hours ago! I'm kind of bummed I'm not pregnant but at the same time I'm glad my af has arrived so now I can start keeping track of everything! How is everyone anyway, apart from going insane because of the long cycles! Lol

Report
nataliefruit · 14/03/2016 20:44

Do you count the first day after af as CD1? If so then I'm CD 23 & Ovia thinks I'm due my period this week so we'll see what happens. Feeling like a bloated whale so it might not be that wrong! It's only my first cycle after withdrawal bleed so it's pretty uncharted territory for me!

Hi everyone,

I'm new! (This is my 1st post so please be kind).

I took my last pill on 31/01/16 (femodene). I've been on various pills for the last 7 years. I had my withdrawal bleed the day after and then had a very strange March with AF for the past 2 weeks (started off spotting for a week then progressed to heavy).

Hopefully it's just getting used to having to work everything without pills telling it what to do!

We're holding off ttc until next month anyway so fingers crossed AF will be normal next month Smile
