Ooh a nice new thread. Good work Kwick

So, how was the transfer?

Report
INeedNewShoes · 07/03/2016 17:44

Good point Taydex . A summary from those of us on the old thread seems a jolly good plan, so:

33, single, just had 2nd IUI at clinic in Copenhagen using contactable donor sperm.

Oh my goodness; writing that it has just dawned on me that I'm in the 2ww. Of course I knew that, it just hadn't registered!

Nice work kwick. Looks like I joined just in time!

No news over here today (for anyone just joining, I'm a [hopeful] single mum by choice, and I've just started my first round of Medicated IUI treatment using donor sperm, and now on the two week wait '2ww')

ooh I just left one last message on the other thread... I will copy over in a mo.

So I am:
Kwick aka footloose and fancy free
TTC #1
Age: I only admit to 21 41
I have been trying since September 2015 - I have done 4 un-medicated IUIs, 1 medicated IUI and now a stimulated IVF. Embryo transfer was TODAY!!!!! I am under strict instructions not to test until 22 March... how will I last that long?! The embryo that they transferred was at 8 cell stage, top quality and had assisted hatching done on it. I have PHOTOS!!!!!

So cloud I like to call sperm "magic potion" grin
I have done back to back cycles with donor sperm - but I am with CRGH. The first 5 loads of magic potion came from Cyros (Danish bank) but for this one of IVF I have changed to Xytex in the USA - much better choice and the price worked out about the same as using London Sperm Bank (crazy right given difference in distance).

I did get quite emotional with 5th IUI - which was medicated. I completely freaked out during an episode of Downton over Christmas... but actually now with IVF and shed loads more drugs I have been okay. But Cloud all of this is emotional... regardless of the drugs you may be taking. There is a lot at stake. It is perfectly normal to have freak outs Grin

LOL Cloud on (in)voluntary stabbing... the lengths we will go to right?

Yay caution so pleased you have scan booked in!

I gave up caffeine except for one normal tea a day from local cafe by work - everything else is either decaf or herbal

shoes hope you got back to hotel okay - have a lovely picnic dinner! I am going to order in again

pickle thank you so much - it really helps to know that people have you in their heart :)

Thanks for the welcome pickle! I can well imagine once you join it would be hard to leave and not find out how everyone is getting on!

Okay, so what's this thing about Pineapple...?

Report
Kwick709 · 07/03/2016 19:32

Cloud pineapple (particularly the core) is said to contain a vitamin/mineral which allegedly aids with implantation. If you are going to take it then from IUI/IVF for 5 days - a fifth of a fresh pineapple each day.

Other 2WW tips: keep feet warm, keep kidneys warm, laugh

Hello my lovely ladies Grin

Thank you all for being just as happy/relieved as me that I got my scan booked... It's so nice to know you care! I've been getting quite a few bad pains today so hopefully we'll find out what's wrong.

Kwick, clever thinking on your part to create another thread. How are you feeling? Is your 2ww shorter or the same because you've had IVF..?? My way of thinking is that the embryo implants on day 6-9 (??) after conceiving, but because you've technically already conceived, how long will you have to wait before testing??

Shoes - how're you doing?

Pickle how's your neck/throat now?!

Hope the rest of you lovely ladies are ok. X

Hi ladies! I have been very ill since I last spoke to you, and I was silly enough to go to work today! I literally dragged myself through the day! Stupid me Sad Well enough moaning! At least I am in bed now.

Looks like i've missed so so much! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Flowers

Kwick Wow! I am ever so delighted that all has gone so so well Smile! It is absolutely fabulous. Best of luck tomorrow x Flowers

Shoes I am delighted that you didn't miss your LH surge, and that you ended up having the IUI done today. Hip hip hooray Flowers

Caution You must feel better now that you know that your scan is so close! At least it will provide you with more clarity.

Taydex I handed my prescription into the pharmacy, so I am definitely getting closer! I am just waiting for ovulation this month, so that I can properly inform the clinic when AF is due. I may have to change the date for my baseline scan Exciting times ahead. How have you been feeling yourself?

Pickle How are you feeling now? I hope you are doing much better!

Cloud Welcome to the thread! The ladies here are very welcoming, super helpful, and ever so kind! Congrats on getting to the 2WW x

Booboo 34, My DH and I have one DS (13), we are experiencing unexplained secondary infertility. We are due to start our first IUI cycle in about 2 weeks!

caution just a thought.. you sure it is womble related pain? I once was rushed to hospital thinking my ovary was exploding and it turned out to be constipation....

Unfortunately it is still a 16 day wait.... so I will test on 22 March

I am trying to load up a photo but my phone is not playing ball so cloud here goes:
"Caffeine is actually a little more complicated. I ultimately concluded that 3-4 235 millilitre cups of coffee per day (more than many people drink. although actually not more than I drink) are fine. You might end up deciding you are comfortable with less, or with more; There is no question that some coffee is no problem."

Kwick - the doctor put me on something called Laxido to take to see if that helps. I've been taking it a week today and my pain is still there Sad
16 day?! Ah no, I would've thought it would've been sooner! Never mind, I have a good feeling about this round of IVF Flowers

Report
Kwick709 · 07/03/2016 20:24

okay Laxido sounds like a laxative but what do I know... I am really pleased you are having a scan - not nice to have unexplained pain.

Do you think I should watch the documentary on Zika? I think I will leave for another day..

Kwick we had the choice to start last month, but I work in education, so Easter time seemed to be much better for us, as I didn't want to be stressed out worrying about taking time off work. They just booked me in ahead, but told me to get back to them if there was any change...I am on cyclogest, so I know as soon as I ovulate, when my AF will arrive. My DH is away with the last few days, as his father has been very poorly of latey, so it looks like this month is out for us anyway. I am CD 11 today and I am close to ovulation. Ah well...what will be will be.
