First time TTC - join me on this journey

Hi all, this is my first time TTC and would be grateful for anyone else who wants to join this journey with me until I get a BFP.

I have been using the Period Diary app to track my ovulation/fertility dates. I have a period that lasts 6 days and usually my cycle is approx 27days. According to the app my ovulation date was yesterday (13th Feb). We have tried twice before this date.

Wondering if there are any others which have had successful pregnancies using solely apps? Or if they have any tips on identifying ovulation?

Would love to share the highs and lows with you lovely people on this journey x

Hey I'd love to join? I'm Bee - recently off the pill and in first cycle of TTC
In the midst of what I hope is my fertile week and crossing fingers for catching that egg!

Hey Bee ;) would be great to share my experiences of this journey with you.
Up until now I didn't realise getting pregnant would be so difficult, but I can really appreciate what people mean when they say it's stressful. Especially the waiting to know the outcome.

It's exciting but also a very anxious time.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

I know what you mean - I feel like you're educated that if you even look at a penis you'll fall pregnant as a teen but then when you actually want to its so much harder than you think!!!

I hope you caught this month - great that you know your cycles. Mine are still a mystery but last time I came off the pill I started ovulating etc as normal right away so hopefully it'll be the same this time!xx

I'd love to join. I've just come off the pill too & trying to figure out my cycle before TTC properly. I'm using ovia but God knows what to expect as I've been on the pill for ao long. Couldn't wait to come off the pill & get started but now it's here I'm kinda scared! Confused

Can I join? We just started TTC :) I have no idea about my cycles, I haven't had a "normal" period in over 2 months, just random bouts of bleeding at any time with no warning so I figure just DTD as often as possible and hope for the best! My doctor told me that trying to time is exactly doesn't mean you'll get pregnant faster so I'm a bit less stressed!
Natalie I know what you mean! We were all keen and then when we started, we were freaked!

Me too ladies, am due now my first 'real' period after coming off the pill in January so hoping to figure if cycle will return to my pre-pill 28/29 days. Also using Ovia, who does agree that I am due on today. Have been DTD since coming off pill but not during fertile window (according to Ovia) so we'll see!

Hi Nishp and Thisis, mind if I join? Natalie I'm exactly the same! I came off pill in Nov, was going to ttc from March onwards but talked and decided to just go for it now as who knows how long it might take. I was on pill for ages and now using Ovia too. I know exactly what you mean - I'm excited to get pregnant but now it's here I'm also a bit scared now! Good luck to everyone xx

Me too!!

Came off the pill at the beginning of Feb and just finished withdrawal bleed! Still yet to actually have unprotected sex! I see this being a long journey! Ha ha
I'm using both Ovia and Fertility Friend and guessing at the difference! Ha ha
How long after coming off the pill did it take people's cycles to settle down?

Hello ladies and welcome ;) so glad that we can all share our journies together.

I've tried Ovia and the Period Diary app with the same dates and stats but the ovulation date on both apps is different - totally baffled by this - is anyone else using more than one ovulation calculator/app to check their ovulation date? X

I use glow and ovia but my cycles have been completely cocked up so I don't know if they're accurate

Hi girls. Hope it's ok for me to join in. Stopped taking the pill at New year and had my withdrawal bleed. Now on day 40 with no period. 2 negative pregnancy tests to date.

I can't remember what my cycles were like before I started the pill!

It's so weird because I keep having pains in my stomach, I feel fat, my boobs feel heavy and yet I am negative on the tests!

Didn't manage to find out when or if I ovulated either.

Confused!!!!

Thisisbloodyridiculous it's making me feel mad!

Cervix has been high for ages too and I am new to all of this so I don't understand what it all means.

Everything on line says different things about signs of pregnancy, ovulation etc.

How long has everyone been trying etc?

We only started trying since last Thursday, apparently that's when my fertile period starting & last fertile day is today - then it's a waiting game :(

Hey ladies -not sure if your all like me in this way but I'm constantly reading up on early signs of pregnancy to see if I have any. Sometimes I think I feel different but then I think it's my mind convincing me that I'm feeling something when in fact I'm not. Any one else feel the same? These next 2 weeks of waiting is surely going to drive me nuts. I've never been so eager to get to my period date. X

I'm the same! Today I have heartburn, nausea (4th day in a row!), ache in my pelvis and in the part of my boobs under my arms... of course I've convinced myself it's all early signs!

I'm feeling extremely bloated & the odd feeling of Naseau (but that may be in my head).....I'm going to try & not concentrate on it too much otherwise I'm setting myself up to fail. X

How's everyone today? I'm in my withdrawal bleed this week after last pill on Saturday & have an ear infection so great time to come off!!! Currently finding consolation in a huge bar of galaxy chocolate! Is anyone trying to lose a bit of weight before getting upduffed? I am but clearly failing at the moment!

Is this everyone's first? Lost the trepidation of last week & just back to pure excitement now! Grin

Hi all, I have just come off the pill :)
DH has been ready to start trying for a long time, but I'm with you Natalie - it's now really scary and the thought of having to do it unprotected at some point feels really odd - spent so long being careful now its the other way round!

Report
nataliefruit · 18/02/2016 12:09

It is hammered into us from a very early age that unprotected sex is a very bad thing but actually it's quite literally a necessity of life! Someone posted a video of how difficult it is to get pregnant (called something like 'the great sperm journey' from channel 4) - its a real eye opener & made me appreciate just how lucky we are to be here!

I was absolutely adamant I didn't want kids up until last year but then my clock started ticking and I realised that I'd really regret it if I didn't have kids at some point in my life so while I'm still quite scared I'm more excited than anything else!

Report
zeetea · 18/02/2016 12:16

Natalie you could be me, always said I'd never had kids but within the last year I've turned around and realised I don't want to not be a parent Smile
Just have to get through all the scary stuff!

Aww bless Zeetea, its such a funny thing and a strange feeling isn't it?! My husband nearly fell through the floor when I told him! It's scary but that's why we're on here talking about it I guess Smile

AF has arrived this morning making my first natural post-pill cycle 30 days. Good to know it's normal. I'll be cracking open that wine tomorrow night for sure!

Am I cheeky to ask how old we all are? I'm 34, TTC #1.

Report
nataliefruit · 18/02/2016 13:13

That's a fab cycle length iwillbemrsminty; how long were you on the pill for?

Not cheeky to ask; I'm 31, ttc #1 with a bmi of way too much Grin

Anyone got a prebaby 'bucket list' they're working through?
