Flu-like symptoms? Could it be a sign?

I'm on day 27 of a 25 day cycle but got bfn yesterday. I have felt like crap since day 24 - sore throat, headache, stiff neck and shoulders. It's not like me and the rest of the family are fine. I googled it (of course) and apprentice it's not that unusual in very early pg. Has anyone experienced this? I don't feel pg (trying for dc3) but symptom spotting like crazy of course. I feel ill!

There is a flu-like bug going around unfortunately so it could be that you are coming down with something.

On the upside you can be pregnant and ill so you're not out until af arrives though so keep fx Smile

Yup, I know there is. It would just be so much more exciting to be pg than to have a virus!

So, I think it is a virus, I've felt really unwell today. Could that delay af? It's 3 days late now but sainsburys hpt was negative this morning Sad

Try a SuperDrug, they're the most sensitive ones I found :)

Thank you. Could I be pg then do you think, even with (several!) bfns? It's odd that's it day 27 or 28 on a usually 25 day cycle. It's been nearly a year of trying. My cycle used to be 28 days so perhaps its just reverting.

I know I'm being really annoying but...! Still a bit fluey, shoulders and neck and stomach all feel 'ligament-y' but that may be more due to coughing than anything. I can't get to a shop - live in the middle of nowhere, could get dh to grab one tomorrow at work but might as well wait until I'm a week late now I guess.

Af came so there you go. Very odd 30 day cycle. At least I know now, I knew the lack of symptoms was worrying.

Maybe feeling run down affected af's timing?
I now have the same flu bug I think and af turned up this morning! I feel like I'm copying you 😊 Fx this cycle will be a positive one for both of us xx

Oh bad luck. I've taken day off work, being ill and NOT pg is rubbish. I'm going to try the smep have you heard of it? Look it up. I mean we, not I Grin are going to try it (just not told dh yet!)

Haha Grin I had heard of it and seems like a good method! I'm just going to try every other day with my dh and not let him know when I'm fertile (he gets a bit stressed out and can't perform bless him) xx

That's a good idea then, poor chap. My dh is just resigned to it. He asked me to mark days on the calendar so he knows what to expect when! Not sure how to do that, imagine DM saying "what do all these marks mean on al these dates dear?" Shock Blush

Grr I replied to this on my phone and must have not posted it properly silly me!

Haha that could be awkward with the DM! Are you keeping ttc secret from everyone? We are ttc dc1 and not telling anyone! Family are already asking us when we're going to have a baby and we've only been married 4 months. Definitely not telling them - really don't want the constant interrogation about it! That and I've always been a bit weird and not liked people knowing exactly what I'm up to Grin

Are you trying for dc1? xx

Me too, it's like saying "are you two having lots of unprotected sex?"!!

Dc3 for us, I suddenly feel desperate for one more (at 36). It's pretty silly as I don't know how we'll cope! Just will I suppose, I'll regret it if I don't.

Congratulations on your marriage, how lovely :-) have you just been ttc since the wedding or longer? I can ask!

Exactly!

Aww then just go for it. You don't want to have that regret all your life and like you said you will learn to cope when baby arrives :) My aunt has 4 and she manages :)

Oh wow just thought about it properly and it's actually 6 months since we got married (time flies). We then bought a house three months ago so have been trying since!

Did you fall pregnant quickly with dc1+2? x

GiveMeMyStaplerBack · 11/02/2016 11:43

Took close to a year with dc1 but first time with dc2 (who is 4.5 now) so I was confident but not anymore. As you say though, just have to try and try so I won't regret it.

Are you worried or just impatient? I remember it being so hard first time around. Every other bugger got pg first!

Seems there is no pattern and it just happens randomly!

Impatient really, I was going a bit mad in the first cycle because I just didn't know what was happening after the pill. I have also come off several different pills before and always had cycles back to normal straight away so wasn't happy that the one time I needed them to be normal they weren't! Feeling better about it now though :)
I know 2 of my sister-in-laws are going to be trying for their second soon and DH's Grandad is very ill and we really wanted dc to meet him so I am hoping ttc wont take too long x

Oh I hope you get pg before your sils conceive again! It can feel so hard when everyone else seems to get pg from laying in the wet patch!
