I wasn't on the pill. I have never been on the pill. I was having regular cycles of 31 or 32 days until July when I skipped a period altogether. That cycle was 64 days IIRC. Then after that my cycles went 31, 32, 39, 28 and now I am on CD33, no period and neg test.

I have no idea when I am ovulating. I am looking for ewcm, some months I can see it, but there have been a couple lately where I don't think I had it at all.

I am trying to not become stressed about this, so I don't want to start temping and using OPKs, but I think I may have to.

DC1 was an accident, DC2 was conceived in the second month of trying. I fear I may not be ovulating due to weight gain. I have issues with seeing my GP, but is this something they can help with or do anything about? I already have 2 DCs so feel like it would be seen as just one of those things and not worth investigating.

Any thoughts?

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

See your GP. It may be nothing, it may be a hormonal imbalance. My periods do this sometimes as well when I'm not in bc and when ttc I've always used opk's except the time I didn't want to get pregnant and did!

Hi Liz
My periods are also all over the place some cycles are 32 days, 36 days and then 40 days. I have been using the clear blue ovulation sticks and even though my cycles have been irregular, I have been testing for my LH surge on the dates they suggest and I always ovulate when you should. According to clear blue, if your cycle is 28 days you should ovulate on day 14, 29 day cycle- day 15, 30 day cycle- day 16 and so on. Start testing a few days before this and a few days after to be safe.

Hi Liz, I also find that when Im stressing about where my period is its later, I know its difficult but try not to think about it too much and it will pop up!
You say you are worried about weight gain- what have you gained?

The GP wont assist until you have been trying for a year- sometimes 2 years.

Thanks, yes I had been thinking hormone imbalance for a while now. I think if I couldn't conceive naturally I would just leave it tbh, as I already have the two DCs. But if there is an imbalance there I would like that addressed as I think it could be affecting other things, like my weight and my skin.

I am very overweight, but I have always been. I am around a stone heavier than I was when I conceived DC 1 and 2. On another person that might not be enough to make a huge difference, but maybe it has just been the final straw with my body. Generally I am healthy in the sense that I do not get sick often or need to see my GP more than maybe once a year. Maybe less than that even. Its been 2 years since the last time I was there about me and not DC's, now that I think about it. I could be fitter of course, but I have no trouble with day to day tasks and running about after two DC.

So I should ovulate around day 17/18 then. Hmm. I think I will try OPKs this next cycle, and see where I get with that. CD35 now and still no sign of AF.

Hi Liz

Yes try the ovulation sticks and see what they read. If you have had a period then technically you should ovulate on that day- try the few days before and after too just in case.

If you are overweight then yes this will effect things definitely. My friend was in the same position, she lost weight and conceived naturally after losing.

I think if you are not ovulating on the 17th/18th then you should go and see your GP.

Good luck
