Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

This is just the thread I've been looking for! We have had to put off ttc for six months and will finally be able to continue at approx end of Feb. We already have two children but I have also had several miscarriages and not getting any younger so am not taking anything forgranted.
My plan is from January to start getting fit, healthy and trying to cut down the caffeine and alcohol. Have been enjoying Christmas food and drink as much as possible as will hopefully be pregnant next Christmas!!!
Looking forward to chatting with you.

Hi Felipa Smile

I'm the same....stocking up on cheese, chocolate and booze this week before the pre-conception health kick starts on Monday!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriages...I'm sort of mentally preparing myself for the fact that I could have some. On the upside I've just seen a friend have a baby after five miscarriages in one year which has given me a lot of hope to hold onto if it does happen.

If you don't mind me asking...how old are you as you mentioned it?

I just ordered my prenatal vitamins and a book on pregnancy as its my first!

Hey, I'm in. TTC#1 probably Feb, but maybe Jan.

I'm 30.

I don't drink or drink caffeine, but I barely exercise, need to sort out the exercise while ttc, hoping that will give me the motivation.

My plan is to roughly work out ovulation from my cycle days and EWCM, I'll only start temping if after about 6 months nothing has happened. What about you guys?

Need to order some folic acid!

Hi,

Thank you for starting this thread Stumbly; it's just what I was looking for. I'm 33 and we've decided to start ttc February/March time. I'm using the next couple of months to lose some weight, exercise lots and eat healthily. I'm taking the seven seas 'trying for a baby' vitamins and I use the Ovio app to track cycles which is really useful. Looking forward to chatting.Xx

Reading stuff like this stresses me out! Think I'll just take a multivitamin and eat decently.

"Vitamin C also appears to keep sperm from clumping together, making them more motile." What??

Wow Alice, I had a quick scan through that article and it terrified me too! I think healthy eating and vitamins will be a grand combination. X

Yeah....scary stuff! I'm trying not to get too sucked into anything like temping for the first six months, maybe after that I'll change my mind but for now I'm sticking to the basics.

I already use an app called Pink Pad to keep track of my periods which tells me roughly when I should be ovulating and I'll just use that for now.

Whenever I take on a new project I always get carried away...so this morning I've been entertaining myself by creating an Amazon wish list of baby items....and the bloody thing isn't even conceived yet!!! Grin

I particularly like the part about my eggs 90 days from now being made up of what I eat today. In that case....chocolate reindeer and sherry trifle Grin[santa]

Can I join please? We want to start trying for #2, had planned to start this week but I have a horrible cold so haven't really er...felt like it!
I'm on the wrong side of 35 though so feel like we should get on with it.
Have been making the most of all the Xmas booze and cheese before it's hopefully off-limits for 9 months.

I was on Amazon last night Stumbly and noticed the baby wish list: I've never seen it before but I'm delighted that it's now there. Hopefully a good omen for the future. Although I haven't put anything into that wish list yet, it hasn't stopped me setting up...a few secret baby pinterest boards. Oops! Smilex

Oooooh perfect thread! Hi everyone!

We want to start trying as soon as possible but my doctor has said I need to wait (diabetes not well enough controlled at the moment). So hopefully we'll get the green light to start TTC in March! It's so frustrating, because its taken years for my DH to agree, and I thought he never would, and now he has said he wants to and I am the one who is now saying we have to wait Sad

I have just come off the pill in the hopes of getting to know my cycle, Ovia is such a cool app to use for that.

I love secret Pinterest boards....my DP has no idea that I've already planned our entire wedding before he's managed to propose Grin

I've got ones for nursery decoration and childbirth prep too!

Stumbly Thank you for starting the thread. And nice plan for enjoying all the foods etc that you can now.

Felipa I am so sorry about your miscarriages. I too am planning on getting much fitter and healthier from now on!

Alice and Lashings I have started taking so many vitamins I think I might choke! It's one of the few things I can control :) And hello to my new obsession, hadn't even thought of secret Pinterest boards!

Hi Yoga, hopefully you'll get the go-ahead and March will be your month! Ovia is great: I only started using it in November and I was horrified Blushabout how much I didn't know! Feel a little more expert now though. Smile

This is the perfect thread for me, it's actually made me join instead of just lurking and reading everyone else's posts! I'm 31, been married 7 years and we've decided to start ttc end of February. We have a ski holiday to go on first! I've just got ovia to try to track things, bought seven seas trying for a baby for me and wellman for husband. I kind of want to start now, don't like waiting once I've made a decision, but would be silly to be preg when going skiing.

Great to 'meet' you all!
stumbly I'm 34 so not in a major rush but definitely feel a lot tireder and older than before I had any children so don't want to leave it any longer... Also don't want a massive age gap as my two are 6 and 4 so it's now or never.

I am making the most of the last of the Christmas hols, wine, choc, lots of baileys coffees and cheese.in fact am awaiting delivery of a curry as we speak.... Oops!
Then in January I will get focused (although not Ttc until late February).

Hope you are all enjoying the Christmas holidays too!

Is Ovia free? I conceived really quickly first time round but I'm older, tireder and have a couple of minor health probs now so I think it might take longer.

Hi ladies this is the perfect thread for me too! Grin
Waiting to TTC #1 mid/late Feb at the earliest (Sad) as we have a snowboarding holiday planned early March. Have been taking folic acid and tracking on Ovia. Can't wait for Feb it arrive but will be secret pinning until then to pass the time/contain the excitement!

Oops sorry about that! I am very happy that tomorrow is 1st Jan as even though it's just another day, in my head it is a big step closer to Feb/March. I have put off Ttc for six months for various unavoidable events and it has started to get me down so am looking forward to the new year and the countdown to Feb.
