Hello, so been ttc for a few months now and been charting my cycles. Now up until September cycle seemed normal. Average of 26-27 days. All good. Then I got a sickness bug which made period turn up on day 24. Fine, but then next cycle is 26, cycle after that is 22, then 26 again. What the heck is going on. Anyone else had anything similar? Tempted to go to doctor but not sure if they will take seriously as only been ttc for such a short time.

Hi Weezie,

I have been having similar issues. In the last 6 months mines have varied from once 24 days, 28 days to at one time 29 to 30 days. Usually my cycle is 28 days. I am also ttc. Really weird.

Yep, I had some weird cycles recently - 39 days then 23 days. After that they've gradually gotten closer in duration again but alternating with one long then one short - 39, 23, 36, 26, 33, 29 etc. Ovaries are supposed to take turns so I figure one was a bit keen and the other is a lazy arse!

I'm also having similar weird cycles! We have our first appointment with the fertility clinic on Thursday so I will ask them about it and report back if it's anything of interest! Wink

Hiya, so I had my appointment today and the fertility nurse said that an "average" cycle length is still classed as normal e.g in my case some between 26-30days, the "average" for me being 28. That this was perfectly normal. When I questioned my 2 very short cycles in the last 6 months, she said these must have been unovulatary (anovulatory maybe?) cycles, I.e. Ones where I did not ovulate at all and therefore it messes my cycle up a bit. Basically she told me that unless it was happening regularly then it was nothing to worry about. Hope that helps.
