BFP but Dr thinks I am likely to miscarry

Background: I'm in my first proper cycle after weaning pfb DS at 13 months. I started spotting about a week and a half ago and it has been on and off since, the Dr thought it was an ovulatory bleed.

Now I am close enough to when my next period is due I did a test, and it was positive. Called the Dr who said all the normal things, too early to know much, don't do any crazy exercise etc. But she also said the bleeding could mean I will have an early misscarrige.

I had a mmc at 12 weeks before getting pregnant with DS so I am swinging between being excited and being terrified.

I have to wait until after my period is due, then register with the midwife if I get another BFP. Because of my history and this spotting I'd like to get an early scan but I know its unlikely.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is there anything I can do? Like everyone else TTC, I am going quietly mad. Confused

Hi I had a mmc at 11 weeks then got pregnant again after 1 period with ds. My periods returned when he was about 9 months as he was having more solids and I had 1 period and was pregnant again with dd. Started spotting with her and went to dr who didn't seem to want to do anything but I was so anxious for my mmc from before that I started crying so shd sent me for an early scan. Dd is now 9 years old!

I can't remember how long I was spotting for though.

Thanks OhCrepe, that's reassuring. It is nigh on impossible to get an early scan here until you've had three miscarriages. I can't bear the thought of waiting til 12 weeks to possibly find another mmc so I think I am going to have to insist and pay for a private one if I have to.

The next few weeks are going to be torture.
