Have I lost my baby?

So we've been trying for baby number 2 for a while and finally had a positive pregnancy test yesterday. We were so happy last night. Then this morning there was some blood. No cramps but there has been more blood since. Not my usual period amount but more than just "spotting". I rang the docs who were useless and said to take another test in a week and call back if I was in any pain. So I'm stuck in limbo not sure if I'm still pregnant or not. Has anyone had early pregnancy bleeding and everything been ok?

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's such a horrible waiting game. Unfortunately though, waiting is all you can do. It might be a MC or it might be okay. I hope things go well.

I had early bleeding in one of my pregnancies and all was well in the end - so it can happen.

But the doc is right and all you can do is to wait it out - it is a horrible time I know, being in limbo like this. I hope it all turns out well for you.

It sounds like it might be a possible chemical pregnancy. It is a very early pregnancy loss, it means an egg was fertilized but didn't survive.

I had one in 2009. I had similar treatment from my gp which I'm sorry you find yourself experiencing, its completely unacceptable and unfair to you and it feels like you're being fobbed off.

If it is a miscarriage, there is nothing that anyone can do. Its awful but you will have to wait and take the advice of the gp and test again in a week.

Be kind to yourself just now. It might be ok, sorry that no one here can tell you either way Flowers

Thank you ladies. I'm trying to stay hopeful but also wondering if I'm just kidding myself. All the info I can find is so vague. Thanks for the replies though.

Sorry was not implying doc was useless, did not actually get to speak to the doc as the receptionist put me on hold and then relayed the message to me. More meant that phoning had been useless as was non the wiser.

Thanks I won't give up hope just yet.

Yes I've had early pregnancy bleeding twice and all has been fine. But I suspect from talking to other people that I'm just weird....! It also happened in both pregnancies which I suspect is relevant.

I had 2 chemical pregnancies and it was obvious because as well as the light bleeding my pregnancy tests got paler and went negative over the course of a few days. I also had implantation bleeding with my DD and she is fine. It really is a waiting game. If you only got a positive test yesterday no point in insisting on a scan, they can't see anything until about 5 to ,6 weeks . good luck.

I had bleeding, which I would consider quite heavy, at about week 6. Then every few weeks until week 15. Always panicked I was losing the baby but it was the position of the placenta. Once it moved I didn't bleed again. I'm 32 weeks now.
It's also quite common to bleed when you would normally have a period while your body adapts to being pregnant.
Hopefully everything will be ok for you but unfortunately it is a waiting game. They should be able to scan you in week 6 or 7 so might be worth getting an appointment with your Dr if you can get past the receptionist!
