Anyone waiting to TTC in Spring 2016?

I'm a lurker on the Conception and Baby Names threads as we've decided that we will be TTC next Spring :)

We get married in January and then once back from honeymoon end of Jan I'm coming off the pill to regulate my cycles... then hopefully TTC after a month or two depending on how quickly my body gets back to normal (fingers crossed!) Also to overcome before patter of little feet is getting an extension done to our house to give us a better kitchen (currently it's teeny and a nightmare), upstairs bathroom and baby's nursery!

I can't be the only person getting excited but waiting to TTC in the Spring? Hoping to find some others to chat with, as I'm currently driving DMum and DP a bit mad with my baby chat...!

Hi, fellow lurker here Grin How exciting for you!!

We are waiting to TTC next year also. We have just bought our first home so want to settle in for a few months and wait till we know how our funds are and enjoy some 'us time' ect. but we will be looking to start spring next year also earlier if I get my way . It is all so exciting. I'm forever talking baby names etc. Think I'm driving DP a bit mad to ha! Not telling anyone that we will be TTC so it'll be nice to chat with some.

Ooh yey how exciting!

We've just bought our first home and have vaguely said we'll start TTC next year. I'd love it to be spring rather than end of next year... but who knows? It's weird though I'm super excited but can't talk about to anyone really, weird thing to announce to anyone irl.

Nice to know that I am not the only one super excited about this haha.

I have already stopped my pill (three months ago), using other methods now. Wanted to stop now as I read that I can take some people up to 6 months for cycles to get back to normal. But mine seems to have settled straight away as far as I'm aware. I was on the pill for 16 years.

GummyBunting · 27/10/2015 15:33

That's comforting. I've been on the pill for 12 years and it has been in the back of my mind that it may take a while to get back to normal.
I'm very jealous that you are already married. I've always said I want to be married before kids, but the way things have panned out we'd have to do a quick elopement to make it work. Aah well, such is life.

Report
Beckypea · 27/10/2015 15:37

Ah sadly also not married. We have been together for over 5 years and just buying our first home together. Like you I also always thought I'd be married before having children but it costs so much. I threatened my mother with elopement... She wasn't impressed haha. But we all have to do what makes us happy. Have you decided when you will stop your pill? Are you on mini pill? I was on the combined pill.

GummyBunting · 27/10/2015 15:45

Oh yes sorry it's the other poster who is married. I actually want to elope, my OH doesn't. My mother eloped so she couldn't say anything!

I'm on the combi pill. Haven't discussed coming off it with OH, he probably isn't overly aware that that's something you do. We keep saying 'start trying next year' in a very vague way, so who knows?

Aww hooray hi ladies :) so nice that I'm not the only person getting exciting a little early haha!

Becky what pill were you on? I'm on Yasmin and have been for nearly 6 years, and before that was on Microgynon for 5-6 yrs. So worried I might struggle to resume normal cycles! But not worried enough to stop taking the pill before my wedding/honeymoon, as my friend has really bad acne and hormonal mood swings when she was coming off her pill!

I wanted to elope Gummy but it's my OH who insists on a 'proper' wedding. I'm probably the worst bride-to-be ever, I just don't care that much about weddingy stuff! I'm only doing it because my OH made it a prerequisite of having children.. and also I DO want to 'be' married just not the wedding part.

Ooh how exciting for you!! I hopefully will be, DS currently 5 months, hoping for an 18 month gap. I've never been on a conception thread/birth club/postnatal club thread thingy before!

Hi Bree Smile

Marzi was on logynon for years then changed to cilest about two years ago, just becuase I was feeling so tired all time. OH my gosh I had the WORSE acne ever coming off it, only now is it starting to clear up. I think you are making the right choice to wait till after your wedding to come off as you then have more control, nothing worse than AF showing up on your wedding day.. Or worse... Honeymoon!

Gummy I know what you mean about OH, he wants kids, but I think the thought scares him a little bit. I just told him I was coming off my pill, he doesn't really 'get it all' lol. I'd be happy to elope but I'm an only child so kinda feel like I have to do it for my parents.

Hi ladies I'm hoping to ttc number two in the new year just popped in to say I was on the pill for 15 years (dianette then microgynon) and had no trouble coming off but I did use agnus castus which apparently helps regulate your cycle. We conceived DS in the second month of trying. Also start taking vitamins 3 ish months before trying. Good luck Thanks

Thanks hopelass that's quite reassuring! I've got it into my head that I would like a Christmas baby but that really doesn't give us much time!

My OH & I are January babies, plus the January wedding - I don't think a January baby would be great but honestly think it might happen knowing my luck haha!

I think it might be a bloke thing - mine is keen at times but clearly doesn't have a clue about the amount or things that need to be thought about! His only comment us 'we can't afford it' cue me rolling my eyes! I am majorly broody at the mo and my DS is just as bad going on about having a baby niece or nephew next Christmas Blush

Same here marzi ... Can't afford it, blah blah! Haha. I know why he worries, but most of us all have these worries and they just get on with it. I'm 32 so feel like the clock is ticking now and my doctor doesn't help, going on about it every time I'm there. When I told her I was off my pill I thought she was going to jump over her desk and hug me haha.

A christmas baby would be lovely.

I want a Christmas baby too! Ah would be so lovely :) DS was a one hit wonder but I'm fully aware it could be more difficult next time!

Ahhh we've had a breakthrough! OH has gone from being dismissive and not keen to agreeing to TTC in march Grin I might get my Christmas baby after all!! So long as my blimmin periods play ball & everything goes well.. famous last words I think! Wish we could crack on now haha Blush so impatient!

Hello! Thought I'd join as we've made the decision to TTC from around next March. I'm excited but quite apprehensive at the same time...!

BreeVDKamp · 28/10/2015 09:49

Good news Marzi and zaza! We are still going back and forth between will-we-won't-we, on the one hand it makes sense to me to power through the baby years and not go back to work between babies, then have a career afterwards. But having 2 close in age must be challenging! But I think it will be challenging whenever. And it will be nice to have a small gap I think, my dad and his sister are 14 months apart and super close! But I really want to grow my business! But no point doing so and then having another break to have another baby I guess. Agh!

Sorry, totally thinking aloud!

Also I'm only just recovering from labour and still having physio, so don't want to break my body any more!

We will be ttc probably march time. Already have DS who is nearly 3 and DD is 7 months. I would love another when she's about 2. Not married here either but finally going to book it soon for 2017. Will be on a beach abroad and hopefully will have 3 children by then!

Blimey it's November already! Where does the time go?! Welcome zaza and persepolis hopefully things will start picking up for this thread as the winter sets in!

Had a manic, busy week including having our architectural survey done which is one (small) step closer to getting our extension which means room for baby! Very excited. Perhaps too excited... haha!

I've also ordered some B complex vits from Amazon to start taking, including folic acid as I've heard you're supposed to start taking it 3 months before TTC to give it a chance to get into your system? Any truth in that?

How is everyone?

Hi ladies... I have just come off the pill on Tuesday, hoping to TTC straight away. I'm a bit worried about the pill withdrawal symptoms. I've also started taking SevenSeas- Trying for a baby. The OH is very excited and supportive and eager to get baby making... Anyone else trying this month??

Hi miniweaver and BubbaNo1
We are in similar boats it sounds like and all newbies to the thread!
Great news you have a timeline miniweaver! Are you taking the pill or anything at the mo?
BubbaNo1 I was nervous too but thankfully I've been ok since coming off it 3 months ago after over 10 years. What were your cycles like before?
I've been symptom tracking and using and app to track, I got a high reading on a digital OPK today a week earlier than expected...we DTD on Friday so v slim chance I could fall a month earlier than planned Confused...!!
