Hello. Doobeedee, 36. Not currently TTC but hope to be by summer. 1DS aged 2 conceived with Clomid after trying everything else (and I mean EVERYTHING!) to lengthen an (at worst) 7 day luteal phase. Going to start chatting again soon but I suspect my LP is short again (although not as short as 7 days so that's something). Looking forward to being able to join in the chat properly again soon!

Ob and I got it by nagging the GP to be referred to a fertility specialist after a year of trying and multiple chemical pregnancies. I was lucky that LP was one of his specialisms and, as I'd been temping, he agreed with me straight away. GP has already said she'd refer me straight away if I seem to have the same prob next time. Sadly though, my specialist has retired (DS was one of the very last (if not the last) baby he helped make!

Lucky you doobeedee! At least you can chill out ready for the summer and the pressures not on x

Hey ladies, can I tentatively join? I have 2 kids but definitely have short luteal phase. Took a year to conceive DD1 and 6 months DD2. I extended my luteal phase from about 8 days to 10+ by taking B vitamin supplements last time round.

I would love a 3rd child but I'm looking at an uphill struggle age wise - I'm 40 next year and my mum and grandmother both had their menopause early.

We've been 'trying but not trying' for the last year, i.e.: no OPKs or preseed which I used successfully with the other 2. I know from CM when I'm fertile and think my luteal phase is back down to about 7 days... will try the B vits one more month but I was contemplating going private and seeing what they say. Any recommendations for private Drs or clinics in London?

Doobeedee, how long were you on Clomid for before you got your BFP? I didn't realise it was used to extend luteal phase.

Thanks Mascara, I'm not expecting too much from the appt tomorrow aslong as she agrees to do the hormone blood tests and SA for DH, suppose will then just wait for those results to see where we go from there.

Sunshinegirl2015

TTC #1 for 10months/9 cycles

I'm 27 and DH is 28

Since charting have had a 9day LP, then a 10day LP and last month an 11day LP.

Think I managed to extend by eating healthy, taking EPO and preconception vitamins.

Still no sign of AF for me. Was due last Wednesday but as I don't have a clear thermal shift this cycle I could be either 16DPO, 9DPO or 6DPO according to apps. Tested this morning BFN.

Hi herethere, welcome!

Interestingly, I took Preseed and b vitamins when I got my bfp too (ended up as an early mc though unfortunately). I'm going to try preseed again though this cycle as I think it helps with the PH and all that!

Sorry, no where near London so can't recommend. I just googled for private clinics and emailed a few and the first that got back to me I called (only one actually returned my email)!

sunshine the consultant told me that Clomid can help produce a stronger egg which can help the progesterone issue and bring ovulation forward too as I'm not ovulating until day 20 and AF shows 8/9 days later. Worth a try I guess!

I'm sure they'll give you bloods Sunshine, at least you're in the system now Smile

It worked first cycle. Quite often, progesterone is low because of "weak" ovulation. Clomid strengthens ovulation which in turn increases progesterone in the luteal phase. It didn't bring my OV forward though. The month I conceived, I ovulated on day 20 which was one of my latest.

Interesting Doobeedee. Seems like forever away I'll be taking clomid yet but going in the right direction.

Ok read up on fertility foods, like Mrsunsure said the advice is:

No: sugar, caffeine, soda (my let down) and juices (my other let down) or soy anything! Never fat free, low fat products.

Must:
Exercise regularly
Drink water (distilled, not bottled and preferably not tap Confused)

Fruit - organic: blueberries, strawberries, banana (good for LP), pomegranate, citrus fruits (good for LP

Veg: Be organic, plenty of dark leafy greens - broccoli, asparagus, Brussels, kale, green beans, spinach, cabbage. Red peppers (high in vitamin c - good for LP), tomatoes, potato

Dairy - high fat, organic/free range, eggs, coconut oil (grass fed), almond milk

Fish - Cod, Alaskan salmon, halibut - any fish really that isn't high in Mercury

Grains - wholewheat pasta, brown rice or bread

Meat - grass fed/organic chicken/Turkey/ beef (red meat limited for endo)

Nuts/seeds - almonds, pumkin seeds, sesame seeds, Brazil nuts, walnuts

Garlic and lentils!

Now to order the shopping! At least I'll feel good...

Hi, I've been following you guys since the start of the first thread but haven't posted. I had an un-extendable luteal phase of 8 days (except one cycle which was 12 days after Agnus castus for a month, but went straight back the next cycle). Posting now as interested in all this talk of fertility diet! On my 10th cycle TTC I got BFP having given up dairy after ovulation and drinking smoothies every morning filled with loads of the foods listed above by mascara . And walking the dog plenty and generally looking after myself. Two other things we did differently that month were - baby aspirin every day through follicular phase and abstinence for 5 days leading up to day before ovulation when we DTD. Don't think I managed to extend luteal phase as had a very light period/implantation bleed exactly when I'd have expected it normally. As you guys have found, NHS were not interested, gynaecologist actually very rude (got referred for abdo pain). I know every time AF turned up I wanted to read what had worked for others and found it helped to try something new to keep positive. So hope it helps someone Smile

Welcome sliceoflemon, it's nice to hear you've been following, it's reassuring to hear that people are lurking and maybe we are helping them in their journey in some way (soppy or what)! Thanks for your input!

Are you pregnant now? I'm going to try abstain from dairy from ovulation now then, not a dairy fan to be honest anyway, milk with my cereal and that's about it. Read lots about baby aspirin, I won't try that one until ive spoken to my consultant though.

I used to be a three/four times a week gym girl, now I a zero times a week girl. I know I need to make time. I have been paranoid I guess since TTC about overdoing it/exercise in tww but not doing anything at all is counterproductive all together! I think slowly but surely I'll start getting back into the fitness side of things.

Also read ladies that in AF you should relax totally. Xx

When I conceived first time I was gymming pretty hardcore 4-5 times a week doing spinning and lifting heavy weights and cycling to work which I carried on until 20 weeks before scaling down to just swimming and a bit of Pilates.

This time, nothing! Lifting a toddler and pushing a buggy up hills but that's it!
