Hi everyone,
I'm new to mumsnet so please bare with me as I'm not sure if I'm on the right topic. I'll get straight to the point.
2 months ago my partner and I decide to try for a baby. I swapped from having the copper coil to the mini pill. I was only on it 3 weeks before we decided. After numerous hpt as i was 2 weeks late.I had my first period after the pill which was all over the place including black spots and clots (sorry for tmi) so after my period we started again straight away. This past week I've been extremely tired. Even going to bed after putting my son to bed at 730! Which is unlike me. My moods have fluctuated quite bad mainly being extremely moody and snappy. (Partner says it's the worst he's saw me) my breasts more so my right one have been very sore and my nipples sensitive. I've had more of an appetite and been really thirsty and obviously urinating more. I track my periods using an app and it says I'm 2 days late so today done another hpt which resulted in it being negative. Not long after testing I noticed some very pale pink spotting (normally I spot blood just before my period) and cramps. I don't know what to think as it feels like I'm coming on but it's the pink spotting what's confused me and that I'm late. I'm starting to feel really run down from it as I don't know what to think and are always so tiredSadand the thought of keep buying hpt. Thanks for your time any of your stories or what you could think would be helpfulSmile

It sounds like pregnancy symptoms to me. It could also be due to changing contraception though. Ever so helpful aren't I Grin

Take a test after your period is due. And good luck.

:( sorry to hear that. My periods were really messed up after coming off the pill. I think it's quite common.

Hi sj, do you have any idea when you ov'd? I'm just wondering if you could have ov'd late and the pink spotting and cramping was implantation bleeding? If so, you might not expect a bfp for about 4 days after implantation (with a decent test, longer with a less sensitive one). I don't think you're out yet.
The pill affects different people in different ways. I had absolutely no effect at all from it and went back to normal cycles immediately. Other people are a bit messed up, even by a short time on it, so could be that but I'm still hopeful for your bfp in the next few days!

Hi marchgirl.
I ovulated about 2 weeks ago. I started bleeding a little 2 days ago too but not much at all. Only had a little in my pad and it was brown colored. When I wipe it's a mixture of pink and red. Before the pill I was on the copper coil so was pretty regular. If this is a period it's so weird for me never had it like this before Sad. Ps my last period was after I stopped the pill and it was quite heavy

It does sound a lot like implantation bleeding, and you probably ovulated later than you thought, but I don't want to get your hopes up too much! It is possible that the short spell on the pill has messed your cycle up a bit. The more expensive tests aren't always the more sensitive. You need to check then number on the packet, the lower the number, the more sensitive the test. The cheapy strip ones are often the highest. I'd suggest waiting another 2 days and then testing again. Good luck!
