Hiya all! Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with HPV? And whether it caused any problems trying to conceive?

I have been going to St Barts Hospital once a year for the last 2 years to check on the progress of it clearing (which it is) and hoping when i go back in December 2015 it will e totally gone. The nurse advised that it does not interfere with TTC but was wondering if anyone else has some info or advice? Thanks x

I've had treatment for severely abnormal cells and at the time I was also told that it shouldn't affect fertility.

But as I'm still early on in my TTC journey (only came off pill at the beginning of August) I'm place holding for other people's replies.

Not an issue at all. CIN 1 & 2 and HPV. LLETZ for abnormal cells, yearly smears. 24 weeks pregnant after getting pregnant first month of trying. Try not to worry! (I also have an underactive thyroid which can affect fertility, yet still no issues).

junosmum thanks for the reply!

I guess there must just be other problems stopping me from conceiving then!

Stace, it could be so many things, but that's one to tick off the list? How long have you been trying?

I've been 'trying' for 2 years. I must say the 1st year we just weren't using any contraception but the 2nd year we have been trying to track my ovulation days etc but nothing!

Been doctors and hubs has been refered for a semen analysis and myself blood tests. Hopefully we can get some answers now, fingers crossed!

Congrats on your news Smile

I recently found out was HPV positive at CIN 1. We've been trying to conceive for about 6 months, I've had 3 chemical pregnancies in a row now… I'm currently 5dpo so keeping my fingers crossed. I don't think it's HPV causing the problem though, think it's just bad luck, a couple of people I know with it have fallen almost straight away and had great pregnancies so I'm not gonna point my guns at it just yet. Not only that apparently when you give birth it can often 'flush' out the virus down there with everything you pass during birth, that's pretty common too apparently, good to know!

cocothomas thanks for the info, found that really helpful! And knowing that a pregnancy can also flush the virus out sounds like something to look forward to lol

Sorry didn't finish! Lol

I have also have what I think is a chemical pregnancy.. I've been late at least 4-5 days twice and ended up getting AF which was very upsetting and disappointing! Aiming to DTD every other day this cycle and see if there's any change! Fingers crossed for you too! Grin
