Coming off mini pill - different to what I expected

Firstly, sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm very new to this and although I've been reading A LOT I keep realising how little I actually know.

I have been taking the mini pill Noriday for a good few years now. I've always had a period on it, some lighter than others but some quite heavy and never missed one. I know most people don't have periods on the mini pill.

I stopped taking it at the end of my last packet, which was last Thursday, because we want to start TTC in September. I know it affects people in different ways but everything I read said I would have a withdrawal bleed and then things would start getting back to normal, whether that took a few weeks or a few months.

I'm slightly confused because I've had no withdrawal bleed, not even a hint of anything, and my cycle seems to be continuing as normal. I should be in my fertile period now if my on pill cycles followed and I've even had the egg white CM, in fact more than normal, for the last two days (sorry TMI but I think it's important to the situation).

I guess I'm just confused because I wasn't expecting this at all. Is it maybe because my periods continued as normal while taking it? I was just wondering seeing if anyone else has had this kind of experience and how it worked out for them? Am I lucky and everything has gone back to normal straight away or is this the calm before the storm? TIA

You can be fertile as soon as you come off the pill. I didn't have a withdrawal bleed but had period 33 days after coming off pill so I'm hoping back to normal cycles

I guess the only answer is wait and see! And if you don't want to conceive right away use condoms for now Just in casd

Thanks JellyBean. The sensible part of me knew that but after reading so many people having a different experience it's reassuring to hear someone else reacted this way too!

I had no periods on the mini pill, and I had no withdrawal bleed when I stopped it, just a normal period after 30 days. I went straight into regular cycles. Fingers crossed that it's their same for you!

Thanks Cinder, I do hope so!! It's certainly looking good at the moment but I guess only time will tell.

I think it varies.

I took six weeks for my period to arrive (four weeks for clear signs of ovulation) and no withdrawal bleed whereas a friend of mine took just days to conceive!

Thanks Sophie, it's good to hear that it's not always really difficult to get back to normal :) there's a history of difficulty conceiving in the family so hoping I can buck the trend!
